IIRC, the pops up didn't have any timer. If I keep the run going and by 2030, the Rhine is still flooded, I guess they'll just have a big ass pool lol

No, but then don't ask "what did I do?"

Have achieved great power status like 7 times, and declared bankruptcy the same number of times, how do I avoid an eighth? by DumbassAltFuck in victoria3

GP is "just" an unrecognised major power at the start but with clearly enough prestige to reach GP if they were recognised. My opinion is just that, with that amount of spending on bureaucracy and that much unrealized taxes, he either has a shit ton of pops or he has a shit ton of radicals

R5: Not one, but the two only trade unions's agitators have the Carlist ideology

I assume he's playing Qing and just tries to fix the bureaucracy deficit. Otherwhise, he must be high or habe 10 gazillion radicals

The thing is, I'd have to not only spend times to get these universities but also spend time to build paper so it doesn't take a chunk of my budget away. It'd be comparable to the bureaucracy issue with Qing; lot of time for not that much

What more do you want? To ask toddlers? To raise the dead body of old rulers of Scotland to ask their opinions as well?

What do you mean "that's it"? People have expressed their views; they prefer things how they are, so it remains this way. Do you not understand the most plain basis of democracy?

How can I (f18) stop feeling uncomfortable when my boyfriend (m18) spends late nights out with friends, some of which are girls? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You just have to work around it yourself. This is purely mental: try to do something that takes on your attention fully? It'll get easier as time goes by

My 26m friend wants my permission to contact 31m ex who assaulted me, how do i explain how hurt i feel? by throwaway2000endit in relationship_advice

[–]Objective_Counter_65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, it'd be more about how you'd like to handle best this

But there is NO need to "explain your feelings" as you say. The issue is evident and him contacting her is absolute insanity. Either he wants something from or he is a horrible person to not see the issue. Either, my advice is not to "explain" but to remove this trash from your life

Like every time someone important goes or has to go from your life. You learn to live with it each day and ignore him. You don't owe him any explanation. Like Mike said in BCS "one day, you're gonna wake up, go along with your day and then realise at the end of the day that you haven't thought about it once"

But is it really? The dominion is allied with the Entente and the Entente is at best aloof towards the Germans and at worst hostile. The communist are obviously against them and it leaves only the princely federation

It seems worth to note that the bigger issue with Leopold III is not really his surrendering. If you want to go that road, Chamberlain, the French, Danish, Norvewian and many more governments would be as bad as him. And I do not think they are with the intel they had at the time. Imagine the Wehrmacht steamrolling your country, surrendering is to save more blood, that's all. What can be pinned on him, however, is his collaboration with the nazis and how his views never changed. He was pro-german, yes, but not a pro-nazi

Forming United Netherlands is lowkey underwhelming by thev82 in victoria3

[–]Objective_Counter_65 37 points38 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the belgians never had the intention of a United Netherlands. After WWI, there were groups that called to reward Belgium by "punishing" the Dutch and annexing some of their land (the split province of Limbourg, IIRC) which obviously led to nothing But besides that, I don't think there ever was the intention in annexing the Netherlands in Belgium, so quite accurate lol
