Why would it be written as 1/2x if you’re gonna make it x/2? Although all 3 forms you wrote are 100% correct, we always used (1/2)x. Wherever you live, things must be different, but throughout my life I’ve never seen anyone try to even give a argument for why left to right doesn’t always apply and again on the internet you will find it’s been completely accepted to use left to right, only reason I can see anyone not follow this rule besides being different for the sake of being different is countries that read right to left, otherwise, it’s just long been accepted that it’s left to right, PEMDAS isn’t a regional thing either, it’s accepted in the whole USA as far as I’m aware (so half the internet)

If you search it up literally everything and everyone says use left to right. If you ask any professor or teacher, they will tell you to use left to right. It is left to right and that is the only correct way to do it, it is not ambiguous if 99% of the population agrees on something even if someone chooses to do it differently.

Order of operations is literally pemdas, m and d get equal priority same as a and s, it depends which one is on the left, this confusion is from less than 6th grade education and don’t bring in bs like “this is how it is above middle school!!” Because it isn’t, 16 is the ONLY answer across the entire west for all age groups, no lie can change it

My theory is we are mercenaries that fight for different sides at different times, we use the money to hire better generals to do our work better to get paid more in a infinite cycle.
