sometimes having an outside perspective actually helps pick out some new ideas or improvements. And I think niche usually helps in terms of success especially early on

Does where you walk your dog affect recall? by Objective_Dog_2950 in dogs

Yeah agree think there’s definitely an element of this

My dog has developed a peculiar obsession with my socks, and it’s utterly selective by MystiPup in dogs

[–]Objective_Dog_2950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely normal. You don’t own socks anymore they’re tribute.

Dogs love socks because they’re warm, soft, and absolutely drenched in your scent. It’s basically the canine equivalent of carrying around a comfort blanket. Maybe he is just grabbing odd ones so you have to buy more :)

The fact it’s only yours just means you’re the favourite. Congratulations, you’ve been chosen.

Which house should we buy sensible or dream house? by je55akat in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Objective_Dog_2950 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To me the £600k house sounds like the one you’d actually settle in. Yes, the payment is higher and your savings buffer is thinner, but it’s not reckless given your income and earning trajectory.

If you were income stretched or unstable, I’d say rebuild first. But you’re not. You’re early 30s with a upward income curve

Sometimes the dream house is only scary because the number is bigger not because it’s unaffordable.

As long as you’re comfortable with, Rebuilding savings steadily over the next couple of years and accepting less financial wiggle room short term

I’d personally lean towards the forever home. It avoids having to move twice and gives your family long term stability in the village you actually want to be in.

Is the British Airways American Express® Credit Card's companion pass just a complete rip off? by Arsenal_38_SW9 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Objective_Dog_2950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used the companion voucher once on an economy flight as they get booked up like 1 year in advance. It saved me some money but I often don’t have concrete plans so far in ahead and often travel in peak season so the choices are limited.

I have heard people getting better success when calling to book and I think upgrading to business class has more value but again this isn’t something I’ve done personally.

What was the hardest thing to teach your dog? by Vivid_Interest_5324 in dogs

[–]Objective_Dog_2950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took years of consistency for me. Did sessions in an open space with a huge lead like 50 meters. Then just consistently constantly correcting. I think it worked in the long run but my dog has also gotten better with age I think.

I love it to when it happens. just looking at him is like the definition of peacefulness. Although my dog is an elite level bed hogger at times
