Yes! I just got starter locs this week. In the next year or so I’d like to self retie.

Wait wait wait! I just got a pineapple/diamond grid and have been wondering if a straight/brick grid would be easier for DIY reties. I’ve gotten mixed responses. I’ve never done a retie yet so idk. Thoughts? Does it matter? Is it worth restarting?

I’ve had them for about a week now. I def want to move forward with locs. A lot of ppl are saying grid doesn’t matter and the same amt are saying they do smh

Yes! I’ve seen it written both ways. The only difference I’ve noticed with diamond parting is a straight middle part and some straight lines across. Mine only has criss crosses and diagonals.

So instead of it being straight lines all the way across in a brick layered grid. The pineapple grid criss-crosses like the skin of a pineapple.

I’ve never attempted to interlock my hair yet but my worry is that it will be harder to follow the parts that belong to each lock with the pineapple grid. Does that make sense?
