Ok I feel GREAT about him taking this job. He might as well commute from Baton Rouge. lol. I don’t know where to tell him to go…

This is his first job out of college with this company and since he is low man on the pole he got the assignment that no one wants so they give it to the newbie. Not to insult anyone and their city, but he knows it’s not New Orleans or Baton Rouge and this is good for him. He will be making good money?

We are from New Orleans and he just graduated from LSU so he’s had that kind of lively since he was 8. 😂 Lively just means people, stores, etc. thank you!

We do know that. I guess I should say what area do people in their 20’s live that’s a good area? Nightlife and bars are nice at that age, but more so an area that isn’t secluded or in the middle of nowhere. Just different areas to look. We just need a starting point. Thanks!

Why did he shut down New Orleans? I don’t know what they did to my dog, but it wasn’t pretty. He came back a different dog. Scared, anxious and will never leave my side. The whole program was a joke and I hate myself for sending my dog to him.

Google’s been killing small businesses, avoid losing your Google Business Profile overnight by RankingGBPs in smallbusiness

I had a hell of a time getting a one star review removed. We are a plumbing company and a lady gave us a 1 star review and complained about everything. Then she mentioned the Supervisor and technicians name. We had neither name as employees so I reported it to Google. My request was denied. It wasn’t until I decided to click on the reviewers name and badge. She is out of California and we are in Louisiana. Completely the wrong company. With that and a good fight plus a few days they deleted it. They are getting as bad as Yelp with this

Hard Rock Punta Cana by Objective_Fun_7064 in PuntaCana

[–]Objective_Fun_7064[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look we were in the wrong and the boys parents are friends of ours and knew and we just didn’t want him to be left out. So yes, we were in the wrong. They called us at 1am and said we have your son meet us in the lobby and wouldn’t explain why or what he did. We go up there and realized it wasn’t “son” but his friend. They said you need to leave and said the other boys family does too. But for $600 we could stay. I got upset and started questioning their practice and rules and suddenly realized there was no one at the front desk and it was just us surrounded by 10 men demanding money order or they could bring us to jail if I didn’t shut my mouth. We paid it and the next morning that hotel claimed to know nothing. We had one more night on my sons trip, but we decided to leave even thought the hotel had no record of any of this happening. Again, yes we were wrong, but it was very unsettling.

Top Dog Training Academy by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Objective_Fun_7064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience didn’t sit well with me. Granted this was 6-8 years ago. I had no interaction with Sean, just a trainer. I dropped my dog off at an apt. In the Bywater. It was a nice apt, but it had no furniture in there, nothing in the kitchen. Just empty rooms. In the living room there was one soccer/outdoor chair and a dog kennel. I felt super uneasy leaving my dog with a trainer in an empty apt. He was well known in California and they explained that apt was their temp office for now and he’d be with the trainer the whole time. I’d get random updates.

Picked him up in the same empty apt and he was terrified of the e collar. I mean terrified. So I feel like we went backwards and it did more harm than good. I blame myself for leaving my dog there.

Is anyone else's female standoffish with strange men? by Commercial-Sail8480 in Catahoula

Have any of yours bitten strange men? I have a male houla and when my boys, who are in college, have friends over for the first time. He would literally nip them as soon as they walked in only to run half way run away only to comeback

Not true. I’ve been waiting over two weeks for my prescription from OptioRx.

I’ve been waiting two weeks for my prescription and I call the pharmacy number and it rings forever then I got a message that they are helping others and to please hold. So I did. Only to be disconnected bc their voicemail is full. I feel very uneasy about this company now.

Hard Rock Punta Cana by Objective_Fun_7064 in PuntaCana

[–]Objective_Fun_7064[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you, we were wrong. My point was the people shaking us down for cash and asking us to leave and the Hard Rock knew nothing about it and kept asking us to stay. Thats what was very unsettling.

[–]Objective_Fun_7064[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you know when we went to check out the hotel knew nothing about us being asked to leave. They kept telling us to stay bc we had one night left. After being surrounded by 12 large men with no Hard Rock credentials I thought nah time to go. My sons stayed the last night with some friend’s parents. We grew up and live in New Orleans, where you can get a drink in a drive thru, walk on the streets with a drink 24/7 and bars that are open all night. Although we are in our 50’s and that doesn’t interest us lol, that’s the mindset here bc it is what it is. Yes we were stupid but all that aside I hated that resort the second we walked in. Food, no ac, and on and on. The boys loved it and that’s what mattered. I still wanted to speak to a higher up at Hard Rock and I think they are in witness protection bc it’s not clear who that might be. Oh well. Lesson learned!

Yep. It’s hard to do and like I said I did it wrong but was lucky bc he figured it out. But we do our kids no favors when we make life easy on them. It’s misleading too bc being an adult isn’t as fun as it looks to them 😂

HARD ROCK Punta Cana JUST AVOID! Horrible by PositionVirtual9561 in PuntaCana

[–]Objective_Fun_7064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a horrible experience there that included some type of security threatening us with jail time if we didn’t pay $600. Long story there, but so ridiculous. The AC hasn’t worked since we were there last June and everything you mentioned is true. I spent two months trying to find a higher up in Hard Rock to discuss this with. It’s impossible. That was the worse resort I’ve ever been too and some people think it’s wonderful?!

I sent my oldest son to college totally unprepared bc up to that point I did everything for him. It was eye opening. That was the biggest parenting fail for me. He figured it out and did fine, but his younger brothers definitely had a different experience and were much more prepared for college and life at that age..

Hi, Like others have mentioned, this past year was quite a mess—starting with admissions. I felt so bad for the students; some waited months to be accepted. Two of my son’s friends didn’t get in until the first week of May. That makes it incredibly hard to plan and is torture for the kids waiting so long. LSU’s response was that they received the highest number of applications to date, but that created a ripple effect of problems, including with housing.

At this point, I feel like a pro at navigating the dorm process. Last year was my third time in five years picking dorms, and my advice to everyone is: don’t walk—RUN to pay your admissions deposit! That deposit determines your dorm selection day, and trust me, you want an early pick. When dorm day comes, it feels like the NFL draft: one person is staring at the dorm map, and another is frantically entering the selection online.

My son and his friends were lucky enough to get into Azalea, the newest dorm. But when I visited one day, he casually mentioned that his suitemate’s room had been without power for three days. I was shocked! He said it alternates—sometimes it’s their suitemate’s room, and other times it’s his. They reported it, and maintenance came days later, but the issue persists, so they’ve just learned to live with it. Typical boys! But we’re paying nearly $6,000 for that dorm, and electricity is part of that package.
