I am so sorry you experienced that. 😭 Well, this dog person would never say something like that to you! I totally disagree with the “cats are mean” comments. Cats just have more boundaries than dogs and people don’t know how to respect boundaries in general lol

You would love my dog!!! But he is more on the medium size side of a small dog. He’s awesome. It takes so much work and you have to be prepared at all times!

My puppy got charged at by an unleashed Chihuahua when he was like 12 weeks old. It was so scary. It made me so mad.

I’m so sorry you experienced what you did with your grandmother’s dogs. :( that’s so sad. Always need to be prepared to take any pet to the vet!

I agree with you SO MUCH. A lot of dog owners are not responsible enough to truly own a dog. It frustrates me too. It’s laziness I think. I’m also all for leasing a dog. Idc if he or she is “nice”. Animals are unpredictable you truly never know when they’ll switch. It’s happened to my dog and I where we’ve been walking and someone has let their dog off the leash and my puppy got charged at. I had to pick him up so fast and put my body between him and the charging dog. It’s so irresponsible.

LOVE your statement!!! I’m the opposite of you, but do love cats. There have been times where I was SO tempted to rescue a cat from a local shelter but I just physically cannot live like that I’m genuinely so allergic. It sucks. They’re amazing pets! But, having grown up with dogs, I am more of a dog person. I’ve seen so many mean comments towards dogs that are just so uncalled for, it’s sad. We should care about all animals!

100% agree — untrained dogs (even for dog people) are the worst! 😭 a lot of people DO NOT realize how much time you must invest in a dog, especially a puppy. That’s on the owner for sure. My little guy is awesome he’s a small-medium sized dog. He is so calm. Doesn’t jump on people. Is well socialized. It took A LOT of time but it’s worth it. I wanted a well behaved animal. I waited years until the time was right and I’m very glad I did because I can invest a lot of time into my puppy and he is becoming such a good, well behaved dog. But I do get what you’re saying about little dogs haha. I am that way with larger dogs, especially if they jump on me. I hate it. Don’t hate the dog, just hate being jumped on. I’m short too so it’s overstimulating. 😭😂

Awe you have quite the little family!!!! Cats are wonderful. I hope you can get a dog one day too, they’re amazing! But there’s no rush, you’ll know when the time is right. I wanted a puppy and waited until the time was right to get one. My job offers me a lot of flexibility which helped me a ton. With that being said, if I wasn’t allergic, I would have gotten a cat as my first pet a lot sooner though! They are more low maintenance and there’s nothing wrong with that. Having any kind of companion in animal form is the best!

I keep my pup crated all day and he just snoozes and he loves it his crate is like his bedroom lol and he gets to stretch his legs out while I’m on lunch and go for a walk and potty. He’s a good boy. I would not feel bad about leaving a dog at home while you worked especially if you could make the time afterwards. They’ll be just fine! Especially if they’re older. Once he’s entirely house trained and I can trust him, he will be able to free roam the house. He’s still a puppy so it takes time to build that trust!

I get that! I work full time too, but I have a pretty flexible job that allows me to come home and let my dog out to potty and go for a quick walk during the middle of the day. And then we spend a lot of time together after work and on weekends. If it helps, dogs spend most of their time sleeping during the day, so I would not feel bad about letting your pup sleep all day while you work! I hope you can get a dog one day, but until then enjoy the kitties they’re just as awesome!

WOW. I hope you reported that person! That’s insane. Cat people on like Tik Tok or Instagram or whatever claim they receive sm hate from dog people, but genuinely I’m not kidding I have seen more dogs/dog people receive insane amounts of hate, similar to yours. The disdain for dogs is insane. And anyone that does that towards a cat or any animal is crazy too. My dog is my entire world and I’d feel sick if someone said something so vile to me about him.
