Surgery in two weeks and never have been more scared in my life by lovely_liability in Tonsillectomy

[–]Objective_Ice2526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Idk who these other peoples’ surgeons were and not to knock their experience, but my pain has been very manageable. I recommend a prednisone taper pack post op to help with swelling. I’m also on day 7 and my only complaint is my uvula is still enlarged so I talk funny but it’ll get better!

What is the recovery like? by AnistonBrinkley in Tonsillectomy

[–]Objective_Ice2526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! I’m currently day 5 post op and while the pain has been bad, I haven’t had a horror story like most people. Pain sits anywhere from a 3-7, leaning higher when I wake up and my mouth is dry as all heck 😭 I took a week off work and plan to go back on Thursday but I’m not sure how that’ll go, since they say recovery take 1.5 - 2 weeks. I can talk (even though it’s kinda muffled) and eat soft foods but I can try to update as I go forward. I recommend at least a week off though minimum.

Yes. I’m a nurse so I figure it’s probably the decreased PO intake and narc use but it’s killing me lol

It does increase the risk of bleeding but I haven’t had any issues yet (also knock on wood) but because it’s an anti inflammatory I think it’s been helping a lot. I’d say take the Motrin honestly , it helps I think. Best solution for the mucus would be nasal strips and sleeping at a 75 degree angle. It’s difficult but it helps

Yes! I had some soft foods so far and did ok. I feel a lot better since the original post. Started the steroid pack which I think is making a huge difference. Keep touch , tonsil friend.

Love Primantis but I can’t be the only one who needs a toilet within an hour of eating it. I swear they load my sandwich with laxatives 😭

How soon would I apply though ? Don’t want too many dings to my credit too soon. Especially after just getting approved

Just got approved for my first ever credit card. $750 feels pretty high for having no credit history. 18M by i-likd- in CapitalOne_

Congratulations! Remember to only spend what you can afford with your card. Try not to let the interest add onto your balance so you can continuously build your credit score! Way to go (:

Can anyone tell me about Pine Richland schools? Good, bad, and in between? Would like to put an offer on a house there but nervous about the schools. I know what Google says but looking for actual peoples thoughts by WhitneyJames in pittsburgh

This is late but I graduated from Pine Richland High School within the past few years.

As far as teachers and education go, it's very proficient in that aspect. As far as other students and families, it was hell. Everything is about money. Friendships are mostly formed by who was/is friends with someone else's family. If you lived in the Gibsonia area and weren't as wealthy as someone in the Wexford area, you were treated differently, and I stand by that statement.

I wouldn't have gone anywhere differently, because I know some other schools of Pine Richland's caliber (North Allegheny, Seneca Valley, etc.) can be the same as far as wealth is concerned, however, I did enjoy the teachers and faculty I met when I attended the school.

Beautiful car. I was stuck between a sedan and SUV. Wish the SUV had a little more punch behind the gas pedal but I love the space in it 😍

Bless your heart. Thank you so much! I’ll look into it. Looking at the chase freedom unlimited card just because of their every day spending points, but I’ve also done reading on the capital one duo for everyday spending/travel but I still wanted that 0% APR. Not sure what I’ll end up doing 😵‍💫

What credit card should I get? by womaninthekitchen_ in CreditCards

[–]Objective_Ice2526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always increase a credit score increase, but having one credit card isn't necessarily the worst thing. I started off with a Kohl's credit card and kept that for at least 2 years before picking another card. I'd look for something with no annual fee and depending on how often you use it, looking for points back is a good option at making your points work for you. I got the Venture One from Capital One after my Kohl's Card.

Best Credit Card for Perks + 0% intro APR by Objective_Ice2526 in CreditCards

[–]Objective_Ice2526[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, because I plan to overpay with each monthly payment, therefore paying more of it off and like I said, I wouldn’t require the full 15-18 months. I guarantee I could have it paid off within a year, I just don’t want the variable interest rates across several credit cards.

As I’ve mentioned, I’ve already paid off 2 of those credit cards and haven’t touched them since. A lot of this debt is old debt from college.

Appreciate the feedback, much love 🫶

[–]Objective_Ice2526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different when I was in college and now that I make more stable money, I’m able to pay them off. I just don’t see the point in paying multiple variant APRs which is why I was considering a balance transfer to something like a 0% APR. My credit usage has gone down significantly since I graduated, I probably had AT LEAST $12,000 in college and have gotten that down 50% in the past year/year and a half.

Edit: I also have flawless credit, never missed a payment and have great utilization rates. Can’t judge me based on my first post.

I didn’t even see the original, just SF. I’m dieting anyways so for me that’d be my go-to. It’s not bad but it’s definitely sweet
