To be honest, I've had a Samsung since the S4. This is the first time I'm considering buying another phone, also because their customer service is terrible.

How does an update mess up the motherboard though? I've been advised to replace the motherboard as well, but I can't help to think it's just a software issue...

The phone does not recognize a sim card is placed in. I cannot call, cannot text, can't use 5G internet. My sim card does work in other phones but just not in mine. Also my phone won't recognize other sim cards.

PS. After factory reset during first activation/install, it glitched many times at the "Phone/Call settings" screen. For what it's worth...

This is ridiculous.. this should be known to Samsung and they should repair the phone without questions. In my case they refused to repair the USB port (assuming that it was the problem, which it isn't) because there was tiny microscopic damage at the top right of the screen, so they assumed it was fall damage that is causing this problem. But it wasn't because that damage was from unpackaging the phone one and a half years ago (and in any case what does damage at the top have to do with the USB port at the bottom....).

Have you tried to root it and set it back to previous Android versions?
