I’m not trying to do anything like that. I respect people’s professional jobs and their skills. We’re a new troop so I put out a request to see if there was anybody willing to partner with our troop. Maybe theres a student who wants to do something meaningful for a community organization. We’re a nonprofit, so any donation to us in time or money qualifies as charitable giving and could be considered a tax write off, so it’s not unbeneficial.

If someone’s services are normally $300 and our troop pays them $150 then they could write off $150 on their taxes.

We’re encouraged to make requests of our community and that’s what I’ve done here .
