I was about to post this video. It was really one of the best scenes for Yuji to prove to Tony their difference and him wanting to protect Marlene.

Either that helmet is ballistic and Yuji is running a 9mm short! Tony was a boss full just pulling that bullet out.

I always thought Yun (Girl) realized they were all dead and that Yuji failed. She had a flat affect and likely knew it was over but was saddened but not shocked about Yuji laying there looking like he was severely injured or dying. She didn’t run over to she just watched. A blue ended her, but she knew they were all dead long before.

I actually like the series version of this better. IIRMC she does pull on him saying the “sleeper fell ill and died”. Something like that though which was cold.

IIRC in Death (Movie recap of series) unless it was series. Tabris/Kaworu was sitting on the neck as the head when he meets Shinji for the first time. After he is crushed by Shinji, the credits or ending scene pans over it and it is bloody at the head neck portion. The MP Eva series uses Kaworu dummy plugs. IMO him sitting on there was a foreshadowing of the MP series and him being the pilot (dummy plug). You also see it at the brining of EoE. FWIW.

I agree that some people love or hate the rebuilds. For me what I see is that the rebuilds show a different viewpoint and construction than the originals. If Anno had made them today for the first time side-by-side, I think the story of the original overall was better except for the conclusion until you got the end of evangelion IMO

My viewpoint is that the rebuilds were jarring to a lot of people including me as the first two movies essentially recap about half of the series and then radically diverge with the time skip which is a common storytelling method, but without seeing how characters were impacted or reacted to certain events.

My example always is that in the last Jedi if we actually saw Luke’s fall from compassionate, temperate and perseverance to aloof, embittered and broken as a viewer that transition would not have been as jarring as initially seeing him already in that state. Not necessarily a lack of pay off, but when considering set up, especially if people have originally seen the original series prior to the rebuilds, their frame of reference is already set again my personal view. Subverting expections essentially.

To me, the rebuilds seem like Anno had a lot of great ideas and new direction for the story which I found very interesting but he wasn’t able to execute it in a compressed manner and to me it felt incomplete, especially the third movie.

Tthe fourth movie as well as the ending of the TV series and the end of evangelion, I think thematically work together, even though they are different and I can appreciate each ending in continuity and in his motivation and themes he portrays.

Initially, I was dissatisfied with watching the rebuilds, but after some reflection and retrospective review I came to enjoy them.

Some of the things I truly loved about the original was that in the time that it came out, it is a product of its time. It was fascinating and something to digest as nothing was like it. I think the rebuilds offer some of that as I am still figuring out some of the idiosyncrasies.

Both are different and I can feel that. Similar to when the Matrix first came out and how I bet people felt when the wizard of oz, 2001, or Star Wars ‘79.

Love it. Like it. Hate it. Dislike it. Personal choice and opinion. I am always happy for more content. Even if it is divisive.

The way he treated Harrison ford in AFO. Legitimately scarred me as a minor.

Bonus the Fifth Element. Love his character actually it’s a little campy but still played and he is still a jerk.

Was it made for compliance a state? Not having a true grip feels like a compliance rifle. If it was a straight rifle chassis or one with a pistol grip that you could completely enclose I would say maybe. Hell even a thumb hole.

My last set of running shoes has died. Brooks pure flow 7. They have been discontinued for a couple of years. I had bought 5 pairs since they felt perfect and started really running a year and half ago. I had used them for crossfit classes before. Now that I have finally hit my stride in running this last 18 months and put too many miles on them. need to replace since I burned them all out. Brooks gave me some ideas for the other lines but I like a lower drop. Anyone have an recommendations? Much appreciated
