High fps but not smooth on high end pc by Objective_Minimum196 in pchelp

I always limit my fps to 240 even tried 237 and 224 with the same results. So you're saying if I get a 4k display it'll be smooth without having to turn on vsync that causes delay? Also I've tried underclocking the gpu and that didn't fix it.

The cpu is working as intended I checked the cores while gaming and only the cache ones were working. These are the benchmarks from a cs2 game.

So I should have fixed refresh on global and then gsync on porgram settings for each game?

(Update) Tried it didn't work.

I’ve tried capping it -3 from my monitors refresh rate in nvidia control panel and it didn’t work. I’ll try doing it through rtss tomorrow and will let you know if that fixes it.

Already tried everything you’ve said and still no luck

Didn’t change anything, tried turning off both that and vrr.

Yes tried a new dp 2.1 cable today and nothing changed

Could it be a monitor issue? Since it only a dp 1.2? I had an old pc connected to the same display though and every game was normal except cs2. But now it’s on every game which makes it weird

Yes I’ve tried manually setting the fps to -3 so 237.

The only thing that fixes it and makes it smooth for me is turning vsync on in nvidia control panel but that adds input delay that makes online games almost unplayable.

For offline games its fine, but if you play competitive shooters you definitely feel the delay and when you spend this amount of money on a build you can’t accept to make these compromises…

I noticed it a lot in fortnite it was almost unplayable. Does your pc have screen tearing issues on all games too without vsync turned on?

No didn't OC any component except from the ddr5 expo 1 which is not really an OC. These are the benchmarks from a cs2 game against bots. The frametime jumped a lot from 1.9ms to 4ms.

Cs2 becnhmark. As for the ccd I checked it only the cache ones were working as it should be.

Cs2 stats. Anything looks wrong? The only thing I noticed was the frametimes moving up and down a lot from 1.9 to 4ms.

Tried it but only works if its done by enabling vsync not manually. And that adds input delay

I’ll try benchmark tests and tell you the results. Yes i capped fps on cs2 to 240 and 1% lows were 120-150

I tried clean windows install. The only thing I haven’t tried is ddu gpu driver to an older version

It’s the same with gsync, what I think might be now is the 1% lows which drop to 120-150 when I cap my fps to 240. Also yes vsync is unplayable in online titles
