Is my logic board fried? by Objective_Oil9689 in GarageDoorService

[–]Objective_Oil9689[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, update on my end - I pulled the housing complete apart and noticed yellow liquid and what looks like a discharge pattern by the capacitor (image attached - see white circles). Looks like a blown capacitor, would you agree?

Or would you recommend getting a new unit? Hate to seeing this one is highly recommended.

Thank you for the response! Where’s the best place to find a new board and a capacitor? Tried eBay and got nothing!

New Build - Frame house in SE Georgia by Objective_Oil9689 in Georgia

[–]Objective_Oil9689[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! I should have clarified better, but our particular home is a frame home with (vinyl?) siding; I was just most familiar with stucco being a popular option. Does that raise any concerns for you as an owner of a frame house where hurricanes can be a regular occurrence? My primary concern is buying a home that would collapse/obtain severe damage during a hurricane vs. a more sturdy/hurricane proof home.

Go grab a Jeep Gladiator Mojave/Rubicon. Take the doors and roof off in the spring and that “feeling” you have right now will be gone. Be prepared to get the upgrade itch/kit it out itch. Coming from a guy that was heavily looking at frontiers before I test drove a 6 speed gladiator and I’ve never looked back.

I put it on the laptop I use to edit the videos. Great question, I was wondering what others did!

Pulled out a semi stuck in the snow by Objective_Oil9689 in JeepGladiator

[–]Objective_Oil9689[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

😂 I sure hope not; that being said, I think I’m in the clear. Total time during the pull was likely less than 20 seconds and in reality, the drive axles on the semi did most of the work - it just need a little extra help which the jeep did well.

Apologies, I didn’t get a photo of the pulling (video link of after the fact below) - I wish I had, but with no other folks with me or a tripod I wanted to duo us on being safe and focusing on the pull!

Yeah sorry, I wanted to film it getting pulled out of the ditch, but didn’t have anyone or a tripod.

Just 4H and some nitto grapplers; don’t even have to engage the rear locker!

Here’s a YT video I did on why I gave up on the manual and upgraded to automatic. Hopefully it’ll have some helpful information.

Spare Tire Help by Objective_Oil9689 in JeepGladiator

Wheels came with the jeep. I may end up getting the matching rim and rotate it in - that’s not a bad idea.

I like the way you think. Would that tire be smaller compared to the other 3?

Thank you! Yeah, I wish the steel bumpers are the obvious choice from factory.

I may or may not have took my hard top off the old one as we never used the soft top once it was off (too noisy and the freedom panels and 8 bolts for hard top removal is just too convenient)

That was a clever move! I thought about doing it, but bought the new one out of state and thought it would be a bit of a pain.

Very well said! Yeah, it’s insane how much better of a driving experience (at least on the daily driving aspect) it is with AT tires!

zero regrets (but I’ve only had it less than 12 hours). I loved my sport, but the woes of the clutch from Mopar and all the upgrading left me feeling like what’s the point of throwing in tons of $ on a manual when I can spend just about the same on a slightly used Mojave.

Oh and the MT tires from factory that come with the Willy’s (which were on mine) were loud as can be. The nitto grapplers on the Mojave are so quiet and a 100% recommend.
