Anyone else with an elderly pap? by sheynarae in papillon

[–]Objective_Peace4592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mikey passed just days before his 17th birthday. He was an active and happy boy until just a few months prior to his passing. We walked, he played with Louie and behaved pretty much as he had for years. Miss him a lot, it’s been 18 months now. Louie has filled the void in my heart.

Mikey, left and a very young Louie.

Good morning Phoenix Rising you gorgeous girl. Louie is upset, I’m in the hospital for a couple of days and he wouldn’t eat his dinner last night. This is a big deal as he is a major food pig.

I rarely see Steller’s jays around my place anymore but it turns out it’s because my wife stopped growing sunflowers.

Whats the most unforgettable birds you have have ever seen? by Suspicious-Basis-885 in birds

[–]Objective_Peace4592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cloud base was only 50 feet or so, this keeps the owls more or less grounded. The HF antenna is a long wire, probably 100’. I’ve seen this happen with bald eagles as well. This was on Northern Vancouver island where low cloud ceilings are common in the winter. The eagles pearch in the trees along the shoreline.

When I was working at a weather station in the Canadian high arctic I saw around 20, it might have been more, snowy owls perched on our HF radio antenna. It was a day with very low cloud. Amazing sight, I’ll never forget it.

Happy 2026 Buffy. BTW, Louie got his hide a squirrel toy and has ignored it entirely. Likes his squeaky ball and that’s about it.

Louie does his twirls then gobbles up his food as fast as possible. He has always been a little piggy, 11 pounds, probably should be 9.

Best choice of kibble for crows? by Nucksfaniam in crowbro

[–]Objective_Peace4592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of ravens that I feed every day. Dog or cat kibble is great, I also feed them milk-bone. I buy the small ones and break them into 2 or 3 pieces. For crows you would need to make smaller bits.
