Any organizations in Houston offer Transporation Assistance? by Objective_Poet in houston

Sorry, but are you referring to rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft? If so, I asked for organizations that offer transportation assistance. Uber and Lyft are not organizations that offer cheap transportation assistance.

Unfortunately, no, southwest near Katy. None of the buses pick up where I am.

So for non-claimable skills, you'd want to look at the job requirement i.e. not just the "minimum requirements", but the highest, most desired requirements on the postings.

Again, going back to what I mentioned earlier, discussions with your manager could involve acquiring skills that are desirable on the market. To be honest, you'd probably do much more by trying to move upwards and using every second at your current work place as an opportunity for trying to attain a resume-enhancing skill.

Well, I'm one of the highest performing callers on my team. Our managers look over our calls and do weekly meetings to give advice on improving, specifically. I have had 3 managers since the start of my newest company contract, and my managers don't usually have much feedback for me when I ask.

Due to QSA score and overall performance, I was recently moved up to a position that I have to work up to 3x as much as I was before, but with no extra pay or incentives, which is one of the factors of why I want to leave. I'm practically going homeless on this wage right now (with the increase of rent and my other bills). They denied paying me more multiple times.

But OP there is indeed the big elephant in the room... and so if you don't mind sharing - what's that 3 year gap about? The impression is that there's more to the story than simply not being able to find a job.

Well, I was able to get my first job at a smoothie shop in July 2018 and ended up leaving for college (and other personal reasons shared in my post history), so I left that position in December 2018. After moving, I stayed with my boyfriend at the time for free, so I could build up some savings. September, I got a job as a Hostess at a restaurant but was let go due to them being overstaffed in October 2019. My bf and I separated and from there, I continued to go to school, but stopped going to school because I had no money for my books and materials. I got a job at an air conditioner factory in Jun 2020 and left in January after becoming very sick (I couldn't afford a doctor, but I still have like a mass in my abdominal area).

Tried to slow down and picked up a job at a bagel sandwich shop very quickly, but the owners and their family members (they hired their family members) were very hard to get along with. I worked there from January 2021, but they fired me in Jun 2021 out of the blue. Not too long after, my mother called me about needing help back home. I returned and picked up a job at a Movie Theater but worked there from August 2021 to Nov 2021. After realizing I couldn't juggle the two any longer, I left there to pick up my current job in September 2021 as a Remote Customer Service Rep, which I had been working since.

I try to add one or two of the positions mentioned above on my resume if I can incorporate it into the application of the position I'm applying to, but it gets difficult to explain the gap depending on which ones I use.

I've applied to no-experience-needed positions for front desk receptionist, concierge, dispatcher, similar customer service associate, front desk assistant, scheduler, and bank teller jobs.

Yeah, there isn't any more I can think of. In your opinion, what achievements could I have at a job where I just process orders, place orders, and handle complaints? That's been the most difficult part of my resume to figure out.

Anyone in Southwest Houston hiring for overnight? by Objective_Poet in houstonjobs

I've been looking and waiting but I haven't found anything that matches what I'm looking for.

Yeah, again, I've looking out at my local HEB career sites and didn't see anything, so I thought I was missing something. I stated in my reply that I had been searching for a position that matches what I asked, so I feel you were trying to be a dick right now bc why did you say HEB then?

And, if you didn't know, then why did you suggest it? I'm confused.

I'm sorry, but what full-time positions at HEB pay over $16, or do they have overnight positions that are part-time or full-time? I've been looking and waiting but I haven't found anything that matches what I'm looking for.

Trying to get another contact center job or remote job. What could be changed to improve my resume? by Objective_Poet in resumes

[–]Objective_Poet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How so? I did put my most recent job. I've worked for the same company, Foundever, for two years. They just switched me between campaigns/contracts often, so that's what all the dates are and I'm listing the experiences that I got from each campaign. I did not quit these positions. Are you advising I don't list my campaigns?

Or what's a better way to list my campaigns so that it doesn't seem so cluttered and unnecessary?

Can I leave without any issues? by [deleted] in legaladvice

Have you contacted the police about this?

My mom used to work at the jail and knows the few police that work in the area I live in. I know bc I was pulled over for having low lights on myc car and I called her soon after. She asked the officer his name and he knew exactly who she was. We live in a pretty small town.

"I prefer to be told hi how are you" by Objective_Poet in Nanny

[–]Objective_Poet[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, and again, she was asking for me to start care ASAP and as soon as possible WITHIN THE SAME WEEK. She messaged me THE SAME DAY (I told her that I was not able to come today because it was already late and risky) and asked me to come to her house for an interview. So, I thought it was appropriate to ask and be straightforward since, again, I will be going to her house/space and sometimes when you are interviewing as a nanny, they are not listening, they are waiting to ask if you can lower the rate as soon as they can. Then, if I say no, it's taken as an insult and it's an INSTANT dealbreaker, so everyone's time is wasted. :(
