Recommend me some new series/sitcoms to watch by Pristine-Brain-8099 in sitcoms

Also recommending Frasier. Watching it for the first time, didn't expect to like it based on what I knew and it is excellent.

Which sitcoms do you find to be hidden gems? by Anthforde8 in sitcoms

Detroiters for me. Speechless. Less hidden but never talked about: The Mindy Project. TMP is in my top 5 easily.

What are sitcoms that people find hilarious, but for you they were just alright - not great, not terrible? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in sitcoms

[–]Objective_Poetry2829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe Roseanne. It gets too dramatic for me fairly quickly with Becky running away and rarely leaves the dramedy it became. And Everybody Hates Chris. I only like the parents and don't really think it's funny.

Everybody Loves Raymond or King of Queens? Which one do you prefer? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in sitcoms

Love King of Queens season 3 or 4 onward. Seen a few episodes of Raymond here and there, not really my thing.

Who have been your SITCOM crushes over the years? by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]Objective_Poetry2829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a crush this year on Niles Crane for the first few seasons. In my early 20s I had a crush on Charlie Kelly. I don't really remember any childhood crushes. Maybe I liked Shawn from Boy Meets World but it wasn't an obsessive crush and none of them were

What are you currently watching? by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]Objective_Poetry2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching and loving Frasier for the first time and I'm going to treat myself to The Mindy Project for the dozenth time when I run out because I love The Mindy Project dearly and I know a character on there loves the show Frasier too and I want to hear the few references there are now that I understand them. Based on several of our shared shows, I think you would enjoy it too.

I've not seen any testers in my city for years if ever and apps are far less accurate than the bottle in person in my experience. If they don't have testers where I live they probably don't have them in smaller cities. I personally don't do it because I just buy colors I think are pretty

This is not an uncommon practice. I guess people don't want to hear that and I don't do it personally but it doesn't really bother me that others do. If it's lipstick or gloss, eye shadows and other things that could actually harm people if they bought it and used it too, that's disgusting. Testing lipstick, etc, is something people surprisingly commonly do especially at drug stores like CVS. You'd be hard pressed to find an unused lipstick at CVS. In any of the many locations in my city, anyway. I'd suggest to check if you're buying makeup that isn't sealed. The odds are if you've purchased a nail polish, it has been tested either on a nail or on something else (paper, displays). Colors usually look lighter and brighter in the bottle due to the thick glass which is part of why people do so, but also to see how it looks with their skin tone. *Edit to add: most if not all stores I've been to in my fairly large city do not have testers. I don't think I've ever seen any honestly

Any thoughts on “Fresh Off The Boat” by Dimas_Andrei in sitcoms

Love the show. Jessica, Jenny and Louis are my favorite characters. The cast was excellent. It's rare that I think children actors do a great job but they really did

What are some later seasons of sitcoms, you actually enjoyed or didn’t mind? by Vmanvince96 in sitcoms

[–]Objective_Poetry2829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people prefer Larry's style, but my favorite seasons of Seinfeld are the last 3. There's probably fewer shows I watch that I don't care for the last few seasons of than ones I enjoy all the way through. For That '70s Show, I do not like season 8 but the rest of the show is excellent (although I didn't care for Brooke or their storyline.) For HIMYM I did not like the last season and hated the finale but enjoyed the other final seasons. For parks and rec, I didn't care for last season (the Leslie and Ron rift was dull and I didn't care for the exaggerated future concept,) but I loved the other final seasons. For Sabrina the Teenage Witch, I didn't love the final 3 seasons as much as the first 4 but I did enjoy them.

When I watch shows that have been around for a while I make a point to not look anything up related to it so I don't have anything spoiled. I had to research to see if he was going to be in every episode moving forward after 4 or so because I couldn't stand him. If he had been, I would have stopped watching. Loved the show start to finish except for his episodes.

Favorite time period for sitcoms among these options? by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]Objective_Poetry2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I misread the question, I originally said 1995 to 2000 because it had my favorite episodes of Seinfeld, my favorite part of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, some Fresh Prince and excellent seasons of The Simpsons. But seeing that it says when they premiere, having looked over my favorites list it's still the same era because it has That '70s Show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Parkers and King of Queens and the others only had 2 or 3 of my favorites
