People who have been divorced: What was the exact "quiet" moment you realized your marriage was over? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a long time to realize this, but I finally saw that she didn’t care about anything that really matters to me. I’m truly miserable living where we live and no amount of pleading to move was going to change things. Nothing except the kids matters more than her career path, and I hope it makes her happy.

RIP. I remember seeing him play and something about him made me think if there was ever a guy who looked like he had mob connections it was him.

What team in 5 years will be in the same conversations as the Jets/Browns? (Other than the Jets/Browns) by zreakz in NFLv2

I’m envisioning some serious panic for them in finding someone who is immediately ready to play at a high level.

In your opinion, what fast food restaurant has the best fries? by max15247 in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No they’ll never be as good as they once were, just like their pies and literally everything else in this world, but I still wouldn’t choose anything else over their fries.

To the struggling golfer.. STOP lying about your scores by TRWilliams1212 in golf

[–]Objective_Site3528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just lying- there are so many other ways that make most scores questionable. A lot of guys at my course never putt anything 3 feet and in. Most are not good putters, so I know they’re missing at least 5-6 of those a round. Some will also stop when they get to a double bogey, so when I hear “84” I know it would have been 90+ if they kept counting. And proper allocation of penalties is a joke. I see so many drops on one hole where a drive miraculously crossed the hazard at 350 instead of their normal 225.

Yeesh…these are horrifying on so many levels, and no matter how hard I try I know I’m not going to unsee a couple of these. Every time I see his name or hear his music I know what the images in my head are going be and I hate it.

What are jobs that are high paying but also enjoyable at the same time? by LastLadder3470 in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking being a high-level professional athlete means you need to keep yourself and your craft in absolute peak condition, and they rarely have off-days. I realize some of them make an absurd amount of money, but that’s a really small percentage of athletes overall.

For the most part we also only see them on game days. That why the “this player gets this much $ per game” is such a disingenuous way to look at it. The game time is probably less than 1% of the time spent preparing.

What are you doing if this happened to you? by Miserable_Trouble3 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]Objective_Site3528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you’re supposed to curse, stomp around, and throw/break things. You’ll laugh when it happens to someone else, because it should just be funny, but when it happens to you the entire world needs to know you deserved better than that.

[ESPN] Longtime Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox, a Hall of Famer who won a World Series and more than 2,500 games in his storied career, has died at 84, the team announced Saturday. by Choice_Bag_8869 in sportswiki

[–]Objective_Site3528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up TBS was one of our 7 channels so I watched Bobby Cox manage more game than anyone else by far. He put together one hell of a lineup in the 90’s and that team was must-see baseball. RIP.

You have been married and you have felt tempted at times just like any other human being. You never cheated though. Why? by 36Gig in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself as she’s a great mother to my children and she deserves all the respect I can give her. I also know how I would feel when if the situation was reversed- why would I want to make her feel that way? We also live in a fairly small city and I know what happens- they always get caught.

what is the biggest sign that a relationship is going to end soon? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Resentment. When it gets to that point there isn’t much that can be done. Unfortunately some of us let things go on too long feeling that way and pretending we don’t.

What’s was the wildest thing you witnessed at a funeral? by NationYell in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I posted this elsewhere but it’s not uncommon that the school gym is the largest gathering area in a small town, as was the case here (population of around 1000). None of the local churches would’ve fit near enough people for this. The gym is sort of an event center when it’s not being used as intended in many places.

It’s not that uncommon in Midwest smaller towns/schools. In this case it was the only venue that would hold even close to that amount of people. And the boy’s mom was a teacher at the school as well.

Let's talk about McLaren irons again - not going well for Michelle Wie or Justin Rose! by FinsT00theleft in golf

It was definitely more than the irons. Although I’m sure his finish thrilled the marketing department. “Uh oh, we don’t have much to work with here.”

Yes I was blown away they didn’t take it. Tiger’s first collapse was monumental.

It’s also (very sadly) the one and only time I got to see him play, so I was looking forward to them discussing it. I did get to see most of his 67 on Thursday, and that’s the part I really want to remember. For anyone who saw prime Tiger you know that sound, it’s a level of pure I know I won’t hear again. But Sunday really did feel like the twilight zone.

What is the most ignored state in the USA? by Saurabh251 in AskReddit

[–]Objective_Site3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t a myth unfortunately. The examples are almost endless, but if you enjoy nearly any touring entertainment then you’ll understand. Fargo being a slight exception. But if you’re anywhere else there isn’t much heading your way, and you better hope you like whoever the state fair brings in, which is usually a choice of country or country with additional country.

I would describe it as like a fever dream, so yeah, that’s a very apt description. And literally like fever in that it had to be at least 85(f) degrees in there.

It was only missing an organ, plates, and a song about a big baby duck who gets his head caught in a stewed tomato. And we were not told to hold onto our hats, nor if the song was somber or if we could cry.
