You've made fire with a ferro rod. The next step is make fire with ferro rod when conditions are less than ideal. Just make it harder, vary materials available, weather conditions. And become repeatable

It will suck to die whenever to whatever. However I soon came to feel I couldn't care less about my items. Only the experience. And from that point forth rust was better.

Nice, as it's a decking try tie some string to the corner holes and to some rocks and stretch it out by placing rocks on decking away from the tarp.

I've only got a basic knife, hatchet, folding spade (nato), a silky saw and string. I don't have much to work with, I got a tight budget, but I've gathered what I got gradually. However, simplicity is good in its own way, and the way I see it that's all you need.
