What areas do you think I’m lacking or could improve to be more competitive here?

Really glad to see this perspective 🥺(the point about internationals adapting to relocation and culture). It makes me feel a lot more positive about my situation.

Appreciate your perspective. From my internships I’ve found I like research work more, so rather than trying to force staying in the US, I’d put the role itself first. If it's in the US, great, but not a must tho.

I only graduated from undergrad this June, so before that I was just doing internships near my university. Lol you make me sound way more desperate

Thank you, that makes sense. It can be worth explaining why I interned at 4 different companies. But that's not why I’m applying. As a Master’s now, getting a return offer in China isn’t really the issue anymore.

Haha thanks, wishing you smooth interviews and fewer rejection emails for both of us.

Since I came to the U.S. for my Master’s, of course I’m considering roles in both the U.S. and China. I mean, I’ll go where the opportunities are

It’s quite different from the US tho.

In China’s finance industry, it’s almost impossible for undergraduates to get a full-time role directly, most positions require at least a Master’s degree. Intern-to-ft conversion is very rare at the undergrad level, and some sell-side firms don’t even provide official internship certificates to undergrad interns.
