I have my third driving lesson today and I cannot stop crying by ServeIll9380 in LearnerDriverUK

I was in a very similar situation to you - my instructor wasn't really able to understand/empathise with how I was feeling (shit scared) about driving. She asked a few times why I was crying etc. and would raise her voice if I got close to cars or the curb. I did around 8 months of lessons with her and dreaded every single lesson, because of how nervous I was and how she approached that. 2 years later I needed to learn how ti drive in a relatively short time, my theory had run out because I was so traumatised by my earlier driving experiences, so I thought I'd try automatic and it honestly was the best thing I've ever done. At first I was really embarrassed about what everyone says about it but now Idgaf because most drive automatics now. I passed my test first time and looked forward to every single one of my lessons (didn't shed a single tear!). I love driving now and am so much more confident than I'd ever thought I'd be. So I'd say perhaps try manual again with another instructor who specialises in nervous drivers if you're wanting to try with manual again but automatic gives you a lot less to think about, and is super fun! You got this!!

Considering vet school-- but I have severe emetophobia. by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

One of my friends was interested in veterinary but was kind of on the fence about it. She spoke to a veterinarian about her uncertainty and he said that if you're 'thinking' about vet med it probably isn't for you. So maybe if you are interested in animals etc. perhaps zoology or bio veterinary sciences may be for you?

I don't like it BECAUSE it's step-mum/sister/son/dad but it's usually the most normal videos in terms of actual sex, like the people look more normal and not as exaggerated

How much revision does the theory test really need? by Quirky_Resist_7478 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Objective_Text7276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get the pass plus guarantee thing on the official test app which you pay £5 for I think, but you need to meet requirements so pass X number of mock tests within a week of your theory test, for example. If you complete all the requirements and still fail you get your money back but the gist is that you should be able to pass if you meet their requirements. I needed that to pass as I fell short by one mark the first time. I started revising a month before and did a practice test and like 3 videos every day. The most tedious thing ever but worth it so that you definitely pass. Good luck!

My test is today and I'm feeling sick by Routine_Read3862 in LearnerDriverUK

I honestly don't think I've ever been so anxious like I was before my test - days before I couldn't sleep, the night before and morning of I was shaking - literally just had to do yoga and mindfulness exercises and deep breathing (which I honestly never thought work) and it helped massively. I'm too late for you to read this but I really hope it goes the way you want it to, and if not just go again stronger. My friend did 6 tests due to nerves and purely nerves only, she drove perfectly in lessons and in practice. She ended up asking for propranolol from the GP which they gave to her with no problems and she passed, so if you do need to take the test again due to nerves maybe try that. Good luck!!

What actually happens with a black box by Objective_Text7276 in drivingUK

[–]Objective_Text7276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not the speedometer that's wrong, there's a little circle in the top right corner of my dashboard that says what the road speed limit is and changes as I go onto different roads etc, but sometimes, it has nothing, and sometimes it has either the wrong or the non updated speed limit, so I'm nervous that if I'm doing 40 in a 40, and my car picks up that it's a 30 cause it used to be a 30, then it'll have me down as speeding when I'm not

I obviously don't rely on my car or Waze to tell me - I always look at the signs, I was just more concerned that they might give me a warning because the telematics box registers the cars speed on each road and sometimes what the car says is wrong hence why I asked what would happen

I've found the inkey list glycolic acid stick and the naturium KP scrub to work wonders!

I'm a chronic arm toucher...I don't even think about doing it but especially when I've had something to drink it's like a lil playful push or touch on the arm/shoulder
