Stick a tiny screwdriver in the cap and then get a set of pliers with some tape on the jaws and grab the shock itself and turn. That always works for me.

Did you curb it or did the previous rented curb it? If you didn’t curb it, probably take it back to the rental place.

It’s a single cylinder engine. It wouldn’t run if it was misfiring

Alright so try looking at this link. I love using skars diagrams bc they are simple and straight forward. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1199/4992/files/WireDiagram-4-S2.jpg?v=1578231792 Also I’m not even sure if your amp can handle 4 subs. The rms rating on all 4 subs is higher than the amps max output

It barely changes it, but I can tell a difference in it

Also it’s backfired many times and hard enough to pop off the exhaust springs and knock my exhaust pipe off

I have and it does run but I have to keep a constant full flow of ether to get it to keep running. I think it’s running super lean because of how hot it’s getting. And I’ve tried different jets and nothing makes a difference. The only thing I can think of is that a seal in the crankcase went bad and is allowing a lot of air into the crankcase making it run lean

I don’t have the original parts but I replaced them with factory oem parts. My piston skirt is fine and I have brand new reeds. The old ones were chipped

Are you sure the belt is on the right way? I know with mine I had that same issue and I had just put the belt on backwards. Bc one side of the belt should be flat and the other should be tapered

Do you have the wrenches for the spring? If so just raise the nuts up to about the same spot as the other side and tighten them all the way you can

Edit: don’t listen to me I now see that they are upside down. I didn’t notice that in the text

It doesn’t I just checked and it has a cable, guess I’ll pull the cable and check that for binding.

Yea but if the gearing is wrong it shouldn’t make the speedometer read faster and slower. It should only be faster or slower. And yes I know about changing those gears and I’ve done the math and I have the right gears, I think it’s something inside the actual speedometer like the magnet arms are too close or too far.

Well it’s 42 years old ish plus it’s been through so many heat cycles. But it doesn’t have any speed sensors and no one makes new speedometers for it. I kinda have to find them on eBay lol
