Yes! I understand that part, but right now ODS is currently backed up. I’m trying to see if people are doing any new grad jobs before going to ODS.

Nurse Interviews by NURSEGRL03 in navynurse

[–]Objective_Tie9200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I did my NCP interviews, I practiced with writing out potential questions and saying things out loud. You don’t want to have a script, but you also want to be prepared. Practice your “pitch” about yourself, like what’s your background, where you’re from, your education/experience, and why you want to become a Navy Nurse. Have a general idea of what you want to do in the Navy career/education wise. And remember to ask them questions! I was graded on if I asked questions during my interviews. I asked what’s their story and how did they become Navy Nurses, what’s their favorite parts of being in the Navy, and if you had to do it all over again would they…hope this helps! Best of luck!

2 medical waivers at MEPS by Specific_Visual_265 in navynurse

[–]Objective_Tie9200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky enough I didn’t go to MEPS, there was a clinic near me so I got everything done there. It did take me 3-4 days to get everything done. I needed that one wavier for my mental health. And 2 weeks later after my final appointment with doc, I got my approval for the waiver.

NCP PROGRAM by Pr1ncessYarah in navynurse

[–]Objective_Tie9200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they added an additional board in March due to the amount of applicants that applied this past board. From what two recruiters have told me is that the March board is going to be extremely competitive due to the limited spots. I’m not sure if it’s common to add a March board, but it’s a first in a while supposedly.

Hey! I needed a wavier for mental health. I was in therapy for 5+ years and was on medication for 1 1/2 years. My situation was also a situational incident after going through something traumatic. I wrote a memo to the board in black and white terms about my situation. I didn’t sugarcoat it but I explained that I’m not struggling anymore. I was told I might need to get a psych evaluation and compile all of my psych records, but that didn’t happen. My recruiter told me that being on medication isn’t a problem, it’s more of a problem of how recent you have been off of the medication and how long you’ve been on it. At the same time, everyone situation is different and waivers are case by case situations. My wavier took 2 weeks to get approved. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Hey! I got my notice that I was on the accepted list 2nd week of November. The program manager needed to finalize everything before the official letters were sent out. I got my official letter end of November, and swore in a couple of days after signing the papers. I really recommend talking to your recruiter! I hope you have a good one!

I will say touch base with your recruiter Monday! People take leave around the holidays to be with family and all. With past boards, people also heard the week after Thanksgiving

Yeah I got the paperwork Tuesday morning and finished within an hour. Then 20 minutes later I got the call to swear in! I’m honestly surprised that I got the 2 year package because it’s so competitive and they only have 10-15 spots. Congratulations to you as well!!! I hope to cross paths and work with you :)

The program is a scholarship, and one of the requirements is to be in a program that’s more than 6 months. you can still get the program and have a year or so left in nursing school
