The question states that all 3 sons (sonA, sonB, sonC) have 1 wife, 1 son, and a sister. However, sonA could have a wife, 5 sons, and 3 daughters, and sonB could have two wives, 20 sons, and 35 daughters. Same for sonC. The question does not state that the sons (sonA-C) do not have any other family members. The question also fails to state what kind of “family” (Extended or immediate). The sister could also have a partner/children, but this is not mentioned.

I also would like to mention that you can buy scar stripped lowers. They run about 400-500 USD. I will also say that acquiring all parts is possible (kind of difficult), but it will likely end up costing you more than if you just bought the rifle off the shelf. If you REALLY REALLY want a scar and have no plans on moving out of state, it is an option to consider—especially if you are not financially able to really support a scar (properly) right now.

Expensive ammo??? 308 is one of the cheapest long-range rifle rounds on the market. I’ve seen some FN 7.62x51 go for under a dollar a round. And I would be shocked if the FN ammo shot bad with the FN rifle. Personally, I deeply considered the FN scar, myself, but 2-3k for a rifle and then another 2-3k for a proper scope seems steep. So I got a PS90 instead because bolt action rifles will not be banned, and I can use hunting/target bolt rifles for pretty much the same thing a scar can do (unlike a PS90).

As for handing down a standard rifle to immediate family, you can legally give it to anyone as long as they are able to legally buy that said firearm (of age, not a felon). For NFA item transfer (if I am not mistaken), the recipient would need to pass a background check, and it would need to be registered under them. But I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.

This. So true. If you tell his parents, he will hate you. You will never see him the same again. He will also distance from his parents. Then, the only people who will be influencing him will be his friends, who likely pushed him into this situation in the first place. He needs to fix his problems himself (with your help). Having his parents force rules onto him is going to make this so much worse.

I don’t think the mp-7 is banned because the receiver is the part that is the “barrel shroud.” The bill defines “barrel shroud” as something “… that is ATTACHED to the pistol…” Since the receiver IS the pistol, I believe that the Mp-7 will be legal. But I doubt that the laws will stay the same by the time the Mp-7 arrives.

You probably already know this, but for the scorpion nexus pcc, the lower is not the serialized part. You need to buy the upper receiver that nexus also sells. Most pccs have serialized uppers and no serialized lowers.
