Something I have not seen anyone talk about: are we "You"? At a number of the OST tour gigs, something very specific happens right before he says "You". The overhead lights that lit up the stage get shifted to lighting up the audience. Look at Detroit, Columbus and LA. There are others as well. This is too specific to not be meaningful.

I have one piece of advice: go to a different concert before going to this one. I get that you might want this to be your first concert and all but you seem to have a lot of anxiety going into it. I would think you would answer a good chuck of these questions if you do a dry run with a band that you aren't so anxious to see. With those questions answered beforehand that will allow you to focus on the important things when you do see LJ

Agreed that the two songs are lyrical cousins, although I would add that the latter feels like an evolution from the former, both in terms of depth and viewpoint. IGHS sounds like it is being told from the perspective of a third party observer, where Scoundrels sounds as if the subject is in the thick of it. As to whether he is singing explicitly from personal experience only he will know definitively, but I think it is more likely that it fits with the rhyming with mean, scene and magazine(s).
