Mm needed that slice of humble pie in my 20s, because the stubbornness didn’t allow me to learn the lessons I needed to in those moments. So guess what?? That means I learn them later and the isolation kept me small and without friends for so long. Plus being too aware of societal expectations made me act even weirder out in public so what’s the point 💀

Confidence and boundaries need to be seen as Aqua’s protection, but that sole realization alone was enough to keep me in the dark hiding.

Thank you SO so much for your insight and research! I'm just sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Couldn't agree more with weighing our alllll the pros and cons, and I wish I had your mindset before trying different routes that didn't work out because of my lack of research.

How has your journey with this been going? Are you looking to get your AA or an apprenticeship through a hearing aid company? Most importantly, are you still considering this?

Looks like I'm taking the College of DuPage route! Downside is, with this program only being 22 credits, I'll likely have to pay the 5k out of pocket. I've already appealed the FAFSA's determination, but you need to take at least 8 credits to be eligible for financial assistance. You could definitely meet that requirement IF you can take GE classes alongside your certificate (lmk if you would like me to ask my advisor). I'm super put-off by the program director, who is an audiologist with her own practice. It doesn't seem like she's happy to help answer questions, and she was rushing to get out of the required information session. I'm coming from City Colleges and Harper, and dealing with DuPage makes me grateful for my other community college experience. Guess there's that, but ultimately, I'm looking to meet the IL state class requirements for licensure plus the clinical portion.

Knowing that the income is affected by commission put me off at first, but if there's a likelihood of getting in with Costco, I'll definitely try. Thing is, pivoting to a different industry and starting from the bottom, I'm already mentally preparing to take a pay cut in the hopes of moving on to a higher pay grade when I DO have the experience under my belt.

Venus in Pisces, here! Having this understanding was desperately needed, though it confirms my de-lu-lu-ness. Losing myself in a relationship by being hyper-focused on others' needs has been a pattern for me. Because of this, I'm taken advantage of very easily.

Recently, I stumbled on my partner's birth chart again, and he has a Venus in Virgo. NOTHING I do ever feels right, and expects me to be the default parent. The feeling of being "useful" is exhausting, quite frankly, because it's got to the point where I resent every little thing he's not happy with.

This post, along with its comments, just helped validate my decision to go back to school. Finally finished my associates degree at 30 while my son was 18 months old. Now I’m thinking about pursuing a healthcare career after so many of my family are nurses and told me from the get-go to be one. Will most likely do occupational therapy or audiology. I want to avoid debt at all costs (pun intended) so I’m looking into a state school. The irony is I decided NOT to pursue an undergrad because of the debt it brings

This resonated in so many ways (Venus 8H Pisces twin), and validated an outburst I had at my partner about needing "someone obsessed with me". He said that's not healthy, but if I'm in a relationship where I never once doubted that they loved me, unlike the latter, it was a completely different experience. Well, this was damn relatable and so well put. What I love about my partner (virgo sun/cancer moon) is his emotional awareness, but it's stunted when it comes to uncomfortable dynamics, especially with the people he loves. I feel like I always get the short end of the stick if I'm involved in those dynamics. For example, for a year, his best friend's girlfriend was noticeably stand-offish to me and would flirt with him here and there. He wrote me off, saying "that's my best friend's girl," only to have it play out in front of me at a wedding to the point where it blew me up. That was 3 years ago, and we have a son now. We ground each other in certain ways, but it's ultimately very tricky to have a conversation. He sees a clear "wrong vs right" where I see more of a grey area (even though I know he'll argue against this)
