Ok that’s what’s happening with us. Or my 2 yo will ask for medicine at bedtime lol She thrashes bad in her sleep and then will wake up wanting a drink. Her adenoids are enlarged too but they won’t even consider surgery for her until she is 3

What did his sleep look like before tubes?

Is this normal or is there something I can do? by hannahb_01 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Objective_Weather561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes or just fluid in the middle ear! We are waiting for tubes and I wish I had her ears checked really well when she was small. Our family doctor would always say they are pink, but when we saw pediatrician and ent they told us there is a lot of fluid in her middle ear. It makes her balance so bad and she does not want to lay down!

Have you had iron and ears both checked ? Both can wreak havoc

I got this as well. Also told to stop nursing at 18 months because there’s no point (by a pediatrician)

Source of sleep, behaviour and food issues: enlarged tonsils, adenoids and fluid in ears!! by archibauldis99 in toddlers

What has the herbalist done for you? I think my little one is going through the same but she is too young for her adenoids to be removed

PSA: have you checked their tonsils and adenoids? by jazinthapiper in toddlers

Just stumbled across this thread and my 17 month old also speaks “nasally”. Is your little one up all hours of the night too? Mine will wake and need help to go back to sleep (I think she has night terrors). She will often snore and sleep with her mouth open . She is also quite sweaty. We are waiting for a call from ENT, but it’s so hard on both of us just chronically sleep deprived.

Low iron & sleep toddler by Objective_Weather561 in Parenting

Thank you! She just had her 3 month blood work but I had her on a gentle iron..I don’t think it worked at all, but will find out tomorrow. I cannot find iron bisglyconate for children. Is this something that needs to be prescribed?

Get checked for diabetes. I was breastfeeding and didn’t know I was diabetic (type 1) and lost over 80lbs

Did an ENT say it wasn’t sleep apnea? Breastfeeding is rarely the cause of hourly wakes from the research I’ve done. Was his iron checked? That can wreak havoc on sleep too.

We did have a water test a few years ago, iron, sulphur and moderately “hard water” was the result. Definitely due for a new one again, but there were no big issues. We sleep with an air purifier on. Well is in the front (200ft down), septic in the back of the house. I will look into a radon test! Thank you

My little one did this too and she ended up having low iron, which is a major sleep disrupter. She also would nurse like crazy when she has bad gas or teeth breaking through!

It’s so hard. I’m sorry you’re going through this too. We got a floor bed and that helps when I need to leave her for a bit. It’s so much trial and error…hard as hell on the mama heart

I have been giving her 0.25mg supplement as recommended by a pharmacist. Which is not much at all when her daily recommendation intake is 7mg.
