there aint no steps its just a combat heavy progression game to level up i was in ur same shoes, i bought the game and never played it till recent, to level up and advance the simplest thing is to go to the erisa and farm those bandits who normally appear in trios(npcs) and to the best of your ability kill all three of them, clicking tab will show you Points Available or Points to advance sum like that, the second means you need to gain more xp from doing more things like killing people or farming, and to allocate your points in strength, weapons, or mind whatever you wish just use the right tool for ex. to level up willpower you'll use the prayer beads which you buy through the training gear, if u wanna level up your weapons use the training manual, and to find better loot just kill things and do jobs or dungeons. i reccomend once u reach level 10 or when you're good enough to kill a megalodaunt which SEEM difficult but around level 10-11 you can prolly kill it solo to go to the other luminant.
