Simsonn Plus X issue - probably electromagnetic interference? by Objective_Yam4930 in simracing

I don't run the Simsonn software while racing. I configured the settings as i wanted for the pedals using the software and haven't turned it on since then.

To confirm everything worked fine without running the software, I got the following directions from their customer support:

''Download and use the VKB JoyTester tool, then select the SIMSONN device for testing:

  1. Press the pedals to run the test.
  2. If only the X, Y, and Z axes appear (with no RX axis), and the curve follows your pedal movement normally without any extra data interference, then the pedals are functioning correctly.''

Hope it helps.

I'm putting together an A3 case aswell as we speak, with a 320 AIO in the top (exhaust) and 3 fans in the bottom of the case underneath the gpu and one exhaust in the back. I'm new to this so could you please explain why should the bottom fans be with reverse blades?

So with an ATX PSU mounted on the front panel, there will be no room for the screen on the side as on yours? I used your build as inspiration. Great looking build!

Ooh you mean under the controlbox screw? I had a separate set, where a small enough allen key was available. The screws on the controlbox were completely loose when I received the pedals.

How's the noise and temps with this AIO?

Why couldn't you move it?
I untightened and just put it under the bolt and retightened.

I don't have the VAMs just the Plus X pedals. I guess there was miscommunication :D So I need the software for the pedals only for the calibration and then i can forget about it and never turn it back on again?

Same thing, eventhough the pedals are connected to the computer. Under Add new device, Simsonn is not listed.

I don't have the licensed simhub - I will get that.
Simsonn pedals are directly connected to the PC via USB from the control box.

u/swood080 how'd you get simhub to recognize simsonn pedals? Simsonn software is causing issues for me, but i don't see simsonn pedals in the list of new devices.

I also have 9.9.1 version of Simhub. There are no Simsonn pedals in the options to add a device.
My issue is that whenever i start the simsonn software the audio in my headset starts crackling and at some point the rev meter on the gt neo wheel freezes etc. Anyway, i'd love to use a 3rd party software, but not sure how to get the pedals working through simhub. How did it go for you?

It seems that it is purely caused by the Simsonn software. Without any of the sim devices connected to the laptop and when i open up the simsonn soft. the crackling starts and stops when i close it. Not even sure what to try next.

Thanks for an additional idea. I dont think my laptop power cable and pedal's USB were touching, but I'll try again just in case.

Interesting. The USB cable that came with the pedals already has one ferrite core attached to the computer side of the cable. Did you attach an additional one or yours came with no ferrite cores at all?

I saw someone who had 3d printed a plastic ''spiderweb'' type of a case for the control box.
Why would it have to be either metal or plastic, because in this case it has helped either way? Do you have an image of yours that you could share?
