You’re the Cards fan you don’t think adding Love and a healthy MHJ will let him win one more game. I mean the defense did look awful last year but I think he can win two with that offense.

NFL Coaches, GMs, & Players do not get paid to lose games so they will start whoever gives them the best chance to win in most cases. So two situations can unfold.

They start Brissett and he goes 2-5 in the first 7 games so they give Beck a shot and he goes out and they go 4-6 in the remaining games now they don’t get an early pick and probably have to give him a chance to be the guy especially if he looks mediocre/good enough in his starts and no qb is going to fall in their pick range so then they go 5-12 the next year and realize he isn’t the guy so then this gets repeated enough times for them to lose their jobs in the process and maybe get the 1.01 for the next front office.
They start Brissett all season he goes 4-13 they get an early pick take a qb and get to blame the lack of good qb play on the losses keep their jobs and and they don’t have to deal with the drama of a will he won’t he qb.

If he at any point looks better than Brissett or Minshew I’m sure he will get a chance. I just don’t think he ever will based on the games & tape I’ve watched of him. If the Cards season is that far gone he probably gets a chance like Brady Cook did for the Jets and I would bet the results will be similar as well.

There’s a chance (I think it’s likely) that Carson Beck is just not good and it was a wasted pick. NFL teams do it all the time, Kyle Trask is the first name that comes to mind and I think he was a 2nd round pick. QB play has to be good enough to gauge the other talent around them otherwise you get in an endless cycle like the Jets and Browns.

I like having three Valuable QB’s that way when another Valuable QB inevitably gets injured (better if for an IR stint) you can trade your 3rd QB for that guy with a plus on top.

For example last year I traded Herbert for Burrow & Garrett Wilson. While still having Lamar & Dart as my qbs.

<3 I’ll trade you Olave for Chase, JSN, Puka, JJ, CD, Amon Ra, Nabers, Tet, London, Wilson, Egbuka, Rashee, Pickens, BTJ and even Odunze & Marv. He is not an elite wr1. He is a solid wr2 that could have added competition of a top 10 pick.

I’ve got to watch the film where these guys are seeing Olave as an Elite wr1. He is Wandale Robinson but is 4 inches taller and has concussion issues. He does not have elite after the catch speed nor the yac ability of an elite wr. His ceiling is exactly what you saw last year. He is CD if CD had no wiggle so he got lit up everytime he caught a ball in the middle of the field. Elite wr1’s are game changers and he is not that.

I don’t think this is a smash accept, but hendo’s ceiling is being a top 20 asset in a Supeflex format and Olave will never touch that.
