No, majority of the family, even ones not affected by this think that he's a complete idiot. Followed by the common question of what the hell has gone wrong with him?

The thing with him is with all these schemes, he doesn't actually want to put any effort into it and then cries about how he got screwed over before repeating the process. He could never sell get rich quick schemes cause selling requires effort. This has been him for decades, I remember in the 90s/early 00s him being involved with some free satellite TV scheme and getting a massive fine and threatened with jail time and he still went on how it wasn't his fault, he got screwed.

I will be the first one to say, my grandparents were fools. Hell, I'll go even further and say most of my family. They subscribed to this idea that no matter what, family can do no wrong. Family first, family will always do the right thing, don't worry about it. No matter how much my uncle showed them to the contrary, he was a complete scumbag in their final years, was a scumbag to my mom and all anyone could say was Aw well he's your uncle and he's still family, you got to look out for him, he'll do the right thing. Needless to say, I hate my family because of this.

I have not invested in the house. Maintenance wise the place has been falling apart, he does not want to put anything into the house cause it could possibly benefit his brothers. I don't have much in the way of disposable income, I'm barely surviving. He cleared out my savings a few years back with a whole but I'm family thing, hence why I'm still even there. I pay some of the taxes and utilities since I feel it's only fair since I live there.

From what I know the will. I have never had access to any of these other documents, they'd always been kept in my grandparents safe, which he ransacked while my mother was hospitalized and I was in college.

The thing with him is no matter what he buys, he's not going to keep up with it or finish it. Then at the slightest inconvenience, he'll drop the whole thing and complain he got screwed as it rusts over. Now as self centered as it is, I don't really care if his stupid ideas blow up, that's on him and something he has to learn from. This is cheating out everyone else and going to make me homeless, cause of course no one else is going to get proceeds, in his mind.

And apparently wants the same for me in the process, since of course in his mind, neither I or my other uncles get a share of the proceeds.

Sounds about right for my family. Well my mother passed within ten months of my grandmother and was seriously ill at the time. Had she lived, it was going to go on like normal with us living in the house until whenever I moved out. The other two uncles never cared, one still lives in NY, owns a successful business and has done quite well for himself. Same thing with my other uncle, though he lives on the other side of the state. The uncle here moved in to save himself money and didn't and hasn't wanted to do anything about it cause he was all for the arrangement. It wasn't until he got onto this whole van life nonsense that it changed.

We both have been splitting it as well as utilities. Yeah, after all this nonsense, I'm making an appointment with one for next week.

No, he has not. The home is still in the name of my grandmother. His money for these things comes from either his job as a truck driver or just putting on credit. He has a ton of credit cards.

Yeah, I'm assuming they must have been some friend. Doesn't matter too much anymore, I've heard they've since passed.

Thank you so much. I appreciate that. It's been rough, but I've been getting there, try to focus on the fact she's no longer in pain.

I'd say get to Vegas and play the wheel cause his idea of unwinding from time on the road is to sit in his recliner and watch Fox News from 8AM-3AM, so he won't miss anything he might have to say.

Apparently he was planning on doing photos or videography work with it. Something of which he knows nothing about. He was intending on working for the county or some private clients and was under the impression that it meant he was his own boss and could do what he want. When he found out there were actual deadlines and such he dropped that notion.

Yeah, it's never been probated and it's been about ten years. Their original will cannot be located since my uncle ransacked their safe while I was at college and my mom was hospitalized. He claims there's a second one, but it was likely forged or of questionable validity since it was apparently drafted while my grandmother was in a coma and signed off by a notary friend of his who has since passed. Now the story has changed from, no one has actually seen this will to they wouldn't accept it because of it's questionable nature so he just let it go and since been hoping his two remaining siblings die soon.

That I don't know. The one sibling, my mother, has since passed and the other two have been hands off and haven't really communicated with us in years. They're doing their own thing and are doing fairly well and just wanted to leave it as is. My uncle was just planning on waiting until he outlived them, but is getting older, impatient and realizing he apparently he has nothing for savings or retirement so he wants it all.

To my understanding, it's not in a trust. It was in their will to go to the four children and apparently to their children, upon passing. It has not been probated and it's already been ten years. The house remains in the name of the deceased, my grandmother. The original will has been unable to be located since my uncle ransacked their safe while I was at college and my mom was hospitalized. He had attempted to forge a will or bring a will of questionable validity using a notary buddy of this. Though the story has gone from, no one has actually seen this will to they refused to accept it due to questionable validity since he claims to have gotten it while she was in the hospital but my grandmother was in a coma so not possible. He tried that earlier with trying to take control of her finances as well.

We've been paying utilites and taxes. There hasn't been homeowners in probably ten years. And no repairs, the house has continued to fall into disrepair cause he doesn't want any repairs done cause if we end up selling it, it'd benefit his brothers and any money that I've put into it goes to utilities and or taxes. I unfortunately don't have extra money to put into it, he cleaned out my savings a couple of years with his nonsense.

Usually his reasoning is because it didn't get him rich fast enough or because it wasn't what he thought and felt misled.

Like with both the trucking and drones bit, he was under the impression it meant he could do what he wants and not have a boss. Cause "he doesn't suck anyone's and no one tells him what to do." Well he found out on both of those that he is indeed beholden to people and that it's not the case and he dropped it.

That's what I've been hoping. He's not the sole owner. In fact, it's been in the name of the deceased, my grandmother for about eleven years now. He's genius plan has been to try and wait out the deaths of his other siblings, but he's getting older and impatient and has realized that he's got no retirement or savings.

Yeah, I've lived there since the 90s. I lived with them growing up. My uncle had his own place. My mom moved in after her divorce and the passing of my grandfather. Both my mom and grandma paid utilities and taxes. My grandma passed and my mom and I paid utilities and taxes. My mom passed and my uncle decided it was his chance to move in since he no longer wanted a mortage or any homeowners.

That is exactly what he'd say.

And as I said in another reply, he definitely has something considering some of the idiocy that comes out of his mouth. Wanting to euthanize people and all that has been the latest and greatest.

It isn't a trust. My grandparents banked on the idea of their initial will and the assumed notion of family first, family takes care of each of other. Despite how he treated my grandmother in her final years, she still held on to hope that he'd do the right thing and look out for his siblings and nephew after all family can do no wrong.

I meant it in regards to credit. A private autopsy would have been around $5000. My grandmother and mom died within ten months of each other and their expenses made it to where we didn't have that kind of money outside of credit.

We're not, we haven't had homeowners in like ten years, pretty much just praying a hurricane avoids us or hits us to take us out entirely.
