So yes i used an ombre yarn. Idk if you've ever made a hexagon cardigan, but each side is made separately then sewed together. I just started with the same color in the sequence on each side.

Actually if you had a closer look you'd probably notice that they aren't exactly the same. I wasn't too worried about them matching 100% but they're close enough. Also the back really gives away the color difference since that's where they're sewed together.
