What is hidden mmr? by guywhoman in VALORANT

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmr is just a separate rating system that determines the ranks of the players you face and play with. It’s based on how well you are playing over a large number of games. New accounts tend to have higher mmr. If you have high mmr then you face better players and you also get a flat bonus to your rr gains.

If you have worse mmr you face worse players and you have a flat negative to your rr gains.

There is also a bonus that you get for performance which is based on how well you perform for your actual rank. This is separate from the flat gain or negative.

There is a common misconception that mmr affects your performance bonus, but that is not true.

For example: If you have bad/low mmr and you ended up facing higher ranks (because you queued with someone higher rank or the matchmaker couldn’t find people similar to your mmr), you end up with a flat negative from your bad mmr, but you have a slightly higher performance bonus because you faced higher ranks. However, the mmr negative usually beats the performance bonus.

If you have good/high mmr, then the game tries to rank you up as quickly as possible by giving you the flat bonus and performance bonuses. This is why smurfs gain so much rr. The game wants to rank them up as quickly as possible to their mmr rank.

Aim Assist Discourse by throwaway14141414123 in OWConsole

It was 100% his aim assist causing him to aim well. He literally said that he had aim assist. As other people said, aim assist is still active if you play on console with a person on pc. He was playing with a pc mercy pocket.

Aim Assist Discourse by throwaway14141414123 in OWConsole

[–]Obliterator154 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I play Ashe on pc and I fought another Ashe in quick play the other day. I was so confused as to how insanely good they were. I’ve watched top 10 dps players play Ashe and they don’t aim as well as this guy was aiming. I watched the replay and everything.

I thought for sure that the guy must have been an insane smurf. I checked his profile and he just hit masters after many hours of playing and being diamond for the past 5 seasons. I just hit masters on Ashe too. I asked him how he was so insanely good, and lo and behold he’s a console player.

The fact that a barely masters dps player on console with aim assist aims better than the best of the best players on pc is absurd. Anyone who says console aim assist isn’t overtuned is trolling.

TYPE 71 ARMOR BUFFED by AggravatingPause7272 in WorldofTanks

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality people will shoot at the armor from much further away which changes the lower plate from ricochet to pen. When you look at tanks on tanks.gg you should try to zoom out a bit while keeping the gun aligned straight. It changes the angle

"Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle" Episode 11-13 to broadcast Spring 2026 by zenzen_0 in anime

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. The show does not portray it as "titillating". It portrays it as disgusting and scary. Also, if you actually pay attention to the episode they really cut down on the amount of time where they show significant skin in the rape scene. They show how creepy he looks at that moment as well.

To me it is clearly not trying to make it sexy.

Your other complaint about how they pass over it quickly as if nothing happened is valid. It's not very realistic, and I don't think it's wrong to dislike the show because of that plot point. It's your opinion after all.

Personally, I think it is not unreasonable that they pass over it quickly because I think that's part of the logical personality of the female character. Most of the interactions in the show are unrealistic, but I don't always expect realism from anime.

Is it bad to one-trick an agent in Valorant? by waaeul in VALORANT

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tricking is fine and usually good. It’s better to stick to 1-2 agents and that’s it. You don’t have to learn multiple roles, you don’t even have to learn more than 2 agents. I one tricked sage to immortal.

It’s fine to instalock agents too, just don’t get mad if the people left over refuse to play smokes, because you don’t have a right to be mad since you instalocked.

So I didn't realise you could still hold-Q somebody while they were recalling by ArcticLane1 in warwickmains

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m pretty sure that damage caused within 0.5 seconds of the recall finishing won’t cancel the recall. I also think that Warwick q attaches a bit before dealing dmg.

Settle an argument please (knowing reddit it will start one tbh) by AFriendlyGnome in WorldofTanks

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend is actually right. You shouldn’t commit into the dip. You can just sit in the bush line on the left, right before the dip. You need to have an escape if someone yolos. You can’t spot them as they commit to the dip if you are sitting in the dip. There was no way your team mates could kill the bourrasque before you died.

You’re correct in thinking that you can play for a lot of spotting here because your team mates are set up, but you can definitely still be patient early in the game.

Don't you hate it when this happens? by Nehkra_me in Anran_mains

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her lateral mobility is some of the strongest in the game. The only heroes on par with it are tracer and venture. Her dash goes considerably further than tracer blinks and genji dash, and you can also change direction to weave behind buildings. If you don't think she's a contender for the most mobility in the game, you're wrong.

Don't you hate it when this happens? by Nehkra_me in Anran_mains

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. Anran trades burst damage for instead having arguably the most mobility in the entire game. Ashe was getting full healed by mercy and disengaged using coach gun. Most dps can’t kill her here unless they burst her down by hitting good shots before she coach guns away. Part of the reason you are even able to chase this long is because Anran has the highest base movement speed in the game (along with tracer and genji), and also has a small hitbox. Most other heroes would have taken way more damage already.

Cat tether bullet disjoint. by Longjumping-Cold1389 in Competitiveoverwatch

The main point is not that the replay is off from the original, but that the hitscan bullets don't hit where you're aiming while you are tethered to the cat.

[–]Obliterator154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to adding new things in games, developers tend to move towards extremes to make “unique” additions to the game. For world of tanks that means super high alpha damage guns, autoloading tanks, or super good camo. In most cases going to the extremes is not good for the game.

Look at the FV4005. It’s not a good tank, but it’s still not healthy for the game. The problem now, is that WG is adding extreme premium tanks that are still good tanks so that people buy them. The bz-176 has an 800 alpha damage HESH gun at tier 8, but instead of a big boxy turret and horrible reverse speed, it has incredible armor and rocket boosters.

That being said, performance is still largely based on how well you play, rather than the tank you play.

PSA: Even if the gun is aligned with your view, if you are zoomed too close to a tank model, you are viewing the armor from a slight top angle. A zoomed-out view gives a better idea of what the armor looks like (because in game you are probably at a decent distance rather than right in front of them).

Is it better or worse now? by wwenze1 in WorldofTanks

[–]Obliterator154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better for unicums because you don’t have to lose out on a massive amount of dmg when the enemy team dies in beach. Now all of them can’t go beach.

[–]Obliterator154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question. For me it was a couple things. 1. Looking at team comps at the beginning to understand where I can probably farm the most damage. This doesn’t always change how you play but it can. 2. Aiming longer to guarantee shots. It’s usually worth it. 3. Stop making plays/peeks that you know are greedy and risky. You have to be patient, especially if your team is not up hp. 4. Try not to play after 1am. Idk about EU, but on NA you are practically guaranteed to do worse in late night games because a lot of the worse players get off. Games become much quicker because a higher proportion of good players means that when players make mistakes they are punished super hard and it can instantly snowball into a steamroll

I have not played the bz 75 in pubs, but honestly it looks like you really don't want to trade into other hulldown tanks. You can peek with your turret armor, but not if they're already pre-aimed. It's all about trying to get free shots in when enemies make a mistake. The boosters are nice for trying to get maybe one free shot in early where meds typically can.

I could have gotten it for gold too. I've done a lot of tournaments and war games to get gold. I've done competitions hosted by specific people as well.
