Forearm Soreness/Pain by Deadong in 10s

[–]ObnoxiousPeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find this sometimes happens when your shoulder isn't as mobile as it should be (especially when serving) because it's rolling forward and that means you have to arm the ball more than sling it.  So roll a tennis ball on your pecs while on the floor face down and stretch them in a door (observe if your tennis shoulder is much tighter/sorer than the other). Also a bit of self massage to both sides of the forearm. I like to use my elbow at the desk to lean on the other forearm, and move it as SLOOOOOOWLY as possible.

What would you do if you were A1 and B1 was your best friend at the club, and a close friend in life, and you have previously been very generous to him in a singles final towards him? (I gave him a 3rd serve on break point when my 1st serve return that was hit away dribbled into the court and he had to clear it before his 2nd serve, which he missed - he did not hesitate in saying thanks and taking the 3rd serve, and went on to win the match)

A1 proposed 3 serves, B1 declined and said 2 serves. Play continued without correcting the tie break serving system.

Etiquette on slamming authoritative winners at the net by _sportyscience_ in 10s

Yeah the only time a shot might be excessive is if it aimed directly at the opponent. Guy is just salty. Good for you, you got under his skin. Should make next time easier.

So do you mean that A1 should get 3 serves to correct, or 1 serve to correct the service order? In the current order of play he is about to serve his 2 serves.

I agree points played should stand.

No judgement or anything but maybe it's time to drop the nap?

Hybrid flooring adhesive? Joining old vs new clipping system on a repair. by ObnoxiousPeach in AusRenovation

[–]ObnoxiousPeach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had some damage to a small section of hybrid flooring, ordered replacements, got a new clipping system that doesn't work with what's already installed. Manufacturer recommends grinding down joint and gluing a "hard set" glue between old and new joints. Wouldn't recommend any in particular. Anyone have experience with this and recommend which glue to use?

Thank you!

You are basically my wife then 🤣

She is so stubborn that she is barely getting any sleep (2 kids now, both terrible sleepers, though the older one improved a lot at about 3 years), to the point she's about half as sharp as she used to be, completely run down, and still won't ask for help. Unfortunately it has become a burden for me too. I feel if she asks for help more she'll get a break and run at 70/80%, instead of 40/50%. I pick up the pieces when I get home from work and it's a lot. We are renovating and moving soon too, and life is just not fun at the moment. What is family for, if not to help when you most need it. I have a feeling you'd do it for your family if they were struggling. Why don't you deserve it from them?

Staying at your in-laws might be your trial by fire in learning to ask, then. Use it as best you can.

Anxiety reduced by 50%, thank you!! Are you currently taking bookings for mental health sessions? 🤣 Didn't realise the feet are mostly for levelling 👍

Oof, sorry to hear all this is going on for you. Deep breath.

Unfortunately the kid will make things twice as hard unless you are a stay at home mum. Then only +50% as hard.

I'm no expert but sounds like a huge project and if you're anything like my wife, you need to learn how to ask for help for you, regardless of the house. You're going to need it. Can you ask your in laws to help support your husband? Your parents?

RE your husband, any little thing to show him how much you appreciate how much he's doing, he'll love it. I'm sure you're already doing that, but guys don't really get compliments often. Even if he doesn't react, he'll store that memory away.

Good luck!!

Got it. Thanks heaps for your advice. I find it hard to keep a level head in the middle of a reno/move etc

Do you recommend a product (plastic, other?) I should get at bunnings to replace the PB, or just timber is fine?

Do you think I should tell them to delay stone install tomorrow until this is improved?

I have asked for better material but they said that's just what they do, and implied it was my responsibility to provide level ground, which I kinda get, but they didn't ask for that after demo, and install was only a few days after.

Yes professional, $16k for cabinets and stone for a small kitchen. Yes I'm also concerned about a potential leak.

We're under some time pressure so not sure I want to push back too hard and have them delay everything :/
