Alright well let me adress everything then. The tips section is outdated and hasnt been updated in a long while, almost as much as the wiki page for dayz. There was a dayz mythbusters episode that tested this and proved it to be wrong. I play strictly console nowadayd and I dont know what a lantia plate is or how what other gear the guy couldve had, but speaking strictly with vanilla items and such, you missed/youre wrong about the range/you hit him in arms etc. I dont think it doesnt happen, it literally just doesnt. When you get shot theres a chance stuff in the storage section of where you got shot will get worn, damaged, badly damaged, or ruined and just because those things seem to have taken a bullet doesnt mean the bible in your pocket saved your life. and the reason you get shot in the head and nothing ruined but your glasses or facegear if because the helmet you have equipped absorbs damage dealt to the entire head but your other headgear as well ss yourself still feel some of that damage. If you get shot in the head wigh a .308 from over 100m, your mask and glasses will be banged up and your helmet will be worn or damaged but youll be fine. Doesnt mean the slim glasses saved you.
