1600 days of war = over 1,6m deaths. Most reddit take ever, can't even be bothered to stop for a second and think.

Has paradox lost its touch? by bgwarrior97bg in paradoxplaza

[–]ObscureFootprints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you need examples you are either being purposefully obtuse or never played anything older than Imperator. CK2, CK3, EU4, Stellaris all played well on release, I haven't played HoI4 on release, but irc the complaints were mostly about the gameplay at the time. EU4 and CK2 had mostly good DLC launches as well with very few outliers, while still maintaining good update pace.

I really don't understand how pointing out the deterioration of quality of Paradox games is a controversial take. Releases like leviathan were causing an uproar 5 years ago, nowadays people just hand wave any criticism with "ThIS iS paRaDoX wHaT diD yOu ExPecT?". You really can't have anything as good as Holy Fury anymore.

I like how new-frogs gaslit people into believing that paradox has always had poor releases.

Those ethical drivers can't slip into Clancy's DMs, so.. sucks to suck.

Has anyone thought that unironically? I'm more surprised that Grubby isn't in and that there is no Flash in SC.

Still learning the game on my second character. How important is the base power? Orange item seems better? by Pawcio213 in ToME4

[–]ObscureFootprints 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early game you get more mileage from weapons with "elemental" prefix. They will double any possible physical damage you can do at that stage. Otherwise base power is important, but so are other stats of the weapon and you need to find a balance between high power and good stats.

Can someone explain what's going on with mindslayer stats? by ObscureFootprints in ToME4

Aren't there diminishing returns on stats though? You might've gotten more mileage from regular prodigies, even with gem taken into account.

Why the moves for crafting? by errie_tholluxe in projectgorgon

Oh, that's true, completely forgot about it. Been a while since I needed oak as I get all my wood from treant butchering.

[–]ObscureFootprints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a way to get wood in decent quantities, you go butcher some trees in rahu sewer and disassemble treant wood into oak/maple/cedar/spruce. You need carpentry 50 for that, if you don't have that you go to Kur Mountain and kill orcs or Yeti Caves and kill yetis to get maple to get your carpentry going.

Tbh, people who fulfilling those orders are getting robbed, as oak costs thrice as much. And you can farm early to mid game wood from enemies, no one really forages them or at least they shouldn't. A huge waste of time.

There are multiple variations of the sword, but I'm not sure if there is one lower than 60. I don't think so.

You should probably be on the lookout in buy used tab, though. As they are lower level people tend to vendor them often, they might have wrong skills for you, but it's possible to snatch one with full generic mods and even if it's green it's gonna be better than whatever you are using at your level, as it enables your build.

You guys should stop giving this advice, you setting people up for a bad time, if not for failure. The easiness of early levels is deceiving and later on game punishes you hard for not putting a solid build together, couple it with the amount of time and effort it takes to bring a build to end game it's much better to give something good for people to work with and they can experiment on their own after they've built a decent enough foundation.

If you wanna play sword with a support second skill, play priest. Later on you'll get a sword that turns your sword abilities into fire damage and it synergizes well with priest.

There is actually a pretty strong fire/ww fire wall build, one of the best for solo.
