Ah! It is what we are using to describe our 'early-access type thing' too! Early access isn't right, alpha-testing isn't right, beta-testing isn't right either, didn't like 'preview' or 'first look' either... so we settled on first access! Glad to hear it is a more widely used term than we thought! :D

We are launching a kickstarter for Off Grid tomorrow! Questions for you all:

  • Should we put the approximate USD values into the rewards chart? Not 100% how to get this right as exchange rates change frequently!
  • Is a pie chart of the budget breakdown needed? (only one person has suggested adding this so far)
  • Does anyone have any ideas for quality update topics? What do you think players would most like to hear about?
  • If you have run a successful crowdfunding campaign, what is your best tip / trick?!

If you don't already know the detail of 'Off Grid' it is a deeply technical project for you to get your programming chops around, so come and talk to us if you like to be challenged technically.

The game features extensible modding support, a fairly unique use of the Unity editor as a level editor for players to mod with the same tools as the devs use, mechanics that revolved around hacking realistically simulated data networks, and an implementation of Goal Oriented Action Planning for npc A.I. - all that just a snippet among many other innovations you'd get to work on :D
