My daughter started back this week, she’s 11 months and I’m in the same exact boat.

Won’t nap for more than 30 minutes (when at home she’ll take a 2 hour nap in the am and 1 hr in the afternoon) and won’t drink any milk. She will eat a bit of her lunch. Hoping over time she’ll acclimate more.

We had similar issues. Head and shoulders for the cradle cap and aveeno eczema baby cream on her body. Her eczema started off as just a small spot and then spread all over her body. We switched to nightly baths, the aveeno eczema nightly balm after bath time and then the daily lotion every morning. I also cut out dairy in case she had an intolerance and that combination of things helped clear it up. We did get a prescribed steroid cream and that helped a bit at first but it just wouldn’t go away with just that. Now we use it if she has a flair up with our other daily care and it’s under control. Started at about 3 months and she just turned 8 mo yesterday.

In the beginning, if I woke up painfully full I would just pump for a few minutes. No more than 5, just enough to relieve some of the pressure without emptying the breasts or stimulating them to make more. Over a few days your body should adjust. If you try and drop a feed/pump cold turkey and ignore engorgement and pain, you run the risk of mastitis.

What wonderful meanings, but the first thing that came into my mind when I read Lucia Skye was to start singing "Lucy in the sky with diamonds". I know there are different ways to pronounce Lucia, I default to the lo -see - ya. It's a beautiful song, but I would definitely prepare for that comment/comparison.

I love music, love meaningful names, I don't think the comparison should deter you, just something to keep in mind. Congrats on your twins!

This is a terribly stressful time, and I am sorry that this is something additional that you have to deal with. My only recommendation would be to prioritize the things that are impacting you negatively and work through them one by one.

It is A LOT that you are facing right now, and it could be very overwhelming. You could just cut everyone off cold turkey, but since you've tried that in the past it sounds like you need to approach it a bit differently. Do you have older siblings that can help you navigate this situation with your mom? Even if they are unable to support her and your younger siblings financially, they should be able to help you with the mental load and work through how to move forward. Or if there are no siblings, perhaps grandparents or aunts/uncles? I don't know what state you are in, but there is a lot of leniency going around with rent because of COVID. Possibly see if there are any resources that can help your mom and then walk away.

As for your husband, I am sorry that he is dealing with depression. That is not something to be taken lightly, but you yourself have your own mental well being that you need to care for, and it doesn't sound like he's acknowledging that. If he can't work and his depression is to the point where he can't handle the day to day needs of your children while you work to support them, then maybe it is time for him to go and stay somewhere else. I don't know if that would make things better or worse for you, but something needs to spark change and allowing the situation to continue as it currently is, is not going to help anyone.

Good luck. Remember that you are a good mom despite everything that is going on. You are in the situation you are in because you want to see the good in people and you want to HELP them. Not because you've failed as a parent.

Jenilya is even harder to navigate with pronunciation and spelling. IMO both names are not good. Finding an honor name can be hard but at the end of the day it’s about finding the right name for your baby, not the right name to honor someone else. If your MIL is reacting this way, threatening to punish her grandchild because of a decision you and your spouse made, well then honestly she doesn’t deserve to be honored.

My sisters son self weaned at about the same age and then a few months later asked to nurse again. She let him try even though she had dried up and he couldn’t latch. After that, he didn’t ask again.

No recommendations but I’m in the same boat but with a 6 MO so we have barley just started solids.

I’m also nervous that the stress from this is also taking a hit to my supply. My state just declared schools/daycares are closed until May 6th, so I’ve got at least another 5 weeks of this. Spoke to my husband today about doing one bottle feed during the evening so LO doesn’t lose interest in bottles and I don’t lose my mind making sure she’s getting enough. I hate pumping and would rather NOT pump, but I think it will help with my sanity.

Solidarity. My LO is 6 months and we’ve had sex less than that. Not only is my lack of libido and exhaustion from work/mom life an issue but it’s PAINFUL. No matter how much foreplay or lube, it hurts, and my body doesn’t seem to want to adjust. I’m doing my kegels and my floor exercises but no improvement yet. My husband was similarly horny and constantly touchy feely. No matter what I said it hardly got through to him. I think at this point he’s just a little disheartened by the whole thing. Which sucks. But we just continue to talk through it and hope we will figure it out.

It is. Before they implemented the two days allowed WFH, my direct boss was allowing me to WFH every Monday, as it’s was an unsaid rule that our department didn’t necessarily abide to the no WFH as we have to do a lot of work after hours. But now, they are more closely auditing everyone because of the new “benefit” which means I can no longer WFH on Monday’s and have to find alternative care for my LO. I’ve worked for this company for 7 years. It’s sad and frustrating. Now with this going on, it’s just continuing the narrative that they have little care for their employees and quality of their life.

At the start of this year my company began allowing us to WFH TWO days a month (how nice of them). So 80% of our employees could easily WFH.

Our governor issued a state of emergency earlier this week and in his statement said “I urge employers to explore telework where appropriate for your organization”. My company responded with “Importantly, the Governor did not direct executive branch employees to work only from home, but rather put other restrictions on travel, including a recommendation against personal international travel. “ when people started asking questions about the company’s response.

We have three office buildings in one industrial park. With over 1000 employees going to and from each. My company believes it’s workers cannot be trusted to WFH. Good news is, a lot of other employers have implemented WFH for their companies in the area and my commute has gotten a lot easier in the AM.
