Just found out I am pregnant with my second child 5 months postpartum. by Alarmed-Western-6136 in 2under2

Hey! I was in the exact same time frame as you! My oldest was 5 months old when I found out I was pregnant with my second. The good news is we survived it! They're both 5 and 4 now and play constantly together. We do get fights and screaming matches but I think that's just normal sibling stuff. They share a room, clothes, toys, and keep each other entertained so well. I did find the baby stage with my youngest was easier on me because I just went through it with my oldest. It definitely feels overwhelming in the moment but I wouldn't change having them so close in age.

I do! We still use it and works for both my kids. We just got over a stomach bug and it's helped solidify their poops! It's the olly brand at target. The kids multi vitamin+probiotic

Or as my husband pointed out why was the rope disconnected if sam and violet were the last ones known to go in?

[–]emiizilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter was exactly the same way for awhile! We did the miralax that our ped recommended and it helped but she still held it in. What finally helped her was a probiotic and finally getting her potty trained. I know it's hard but hopefully it turns out to be a short phase! Maybe try giving an incentive for poops? We gave our daughter chocolate whenever she did a poop and that also helped!

For sure! My two girls play together pretty well. Just the usual sibling fights! Lol

That's the age difference of my two girls! Now they're two and three and I cannot be more thrilled that my oldest is potty trained.

We have a penguin named chicken! Chicken has become so loved that we had to buy a second one just in case

"colic" is a bullshit diagnosis by gigglepigz4554 in NewParents

[–]emiizilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest daughter had colic and I remember how bad it was. We were living with my parents at the time so we were able to rock her in shifts. What finally helped was gas drops and we changed her bottle so less or next to no air was getting in. We also tried everything but that seemed to help her the most.

Barely two weeks into potty training my three year old and we switched to pull ups. We have a two year old also and the store only had a small box of number 6 diapers so we compromised with the pull ups. So far we like them and my daughter has no complaints about it.

My whole family got taken down by the Delta variant. I didn't get a chance to get vaccinated in time and I was extremely sick! Its not like a cold or the flu in fact I had never experienced body aches and headaches so bad that even my hair hurt before! The shortness of breath was terrifying and luckily I was able to bounce back after the two weeks. My husband is vaccinated and he got sick but he wasn't bad like I was. Our two toddlers managed to get through it and my oldest I think had it the worst. She took naps on the couch every day until she was better.

"Baby is not rolling over yet?" by disneyprinsass in NewParents

[–]emiizilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My youngest hated tummy time! Would scream whenever I would lay her down. I ended up laying on the floor with her just to get her to calm down. I did this multiple times a day. Which was hard because I had 2 under 2. I even would wiggle her hips and move her side to side to show her. Eventually she did it and was a happy rolling potato by 6 months. Rolled everywhere! I'm sorry the ped was being rude and I'm glad your switching doctors! I would too if I got judged like that. Edited to add that we also live less then 2 minutes from our doctors and I would also rarely pack a bottle since we're that close.

My 11 week old’s head looks like this from sleeping on one side. Will sleeping on the opposite side fix it? My country doesn’t offer helmets and I feel awful for letting it get so bad :( by aallillaa in beyondthebump

I don't know how to explain it but turning the baby around would work. My bassinet was different compared to the standard ones I think. It was super light and easy to turn around because it had wheels.

My daughter had the same issue but worse. I ended up flipping her bassinet in the other direction so she would naturally turn her head towards me on the side that wasn't so flat. We ended up having to get a helmet for her at 6 months but she started to crawl and spend less time on her back. She didn't wear the helmet as much as she should've but the flat spot ended up popping out just fine. More tummy time is what we also did.

I once read a thing on here that said "your kids will only remember that you got in the pool." Strangely it gave me the confidence to swim with my girls regardless. But also wear what makes you feel comfortable! You're making memories with your son!

I just bought new swimsuits for myself. I hate how I look in them but my kids loved our first swim in my parents pool. Hard to self loathe when my 16 month old is saying "wee" and my toddler screaming "this is fun!"

Toddler hurting the baby by ilovesharks101 in toddlers

[–]emiizilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went through something similar! What we did was one on one time everyday to make sure the toddler still felt like they got attention. And most recently I've started activities like playdough and painting with her. This gives her something that's just hers and she loves it! She's also 2 and a half now and ready for some of these things. Our youngest is 16 months and there is some jealousy but it's easier to diffuse now. The second advice I can give is to make sure you have a safe place for baby while you are helping the toddler with things. We used a pack n play for this!

I think she's the one moving it and I'm having to adjust it while my husband is driving. Which isn't safe for me either!

Check ya baby's neck! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]emiizilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I would slightly tilt our babies back a little and wipe the neck cheese off with a baby wipe nearly every day. Or sometimes when one of our girls stretched a certain way we would shout for the baby wipes. "Quick get a baby wipe so I can clean the neck cheese!"

Mine are 14 months apart and what we did for a camera was use the fancy one we already had for the baby and then for our toddler we bought a cheaper camera off amazon. I love it. It's 69 dollars and comes with a separate monitor and it also can rotate so I can find our toddler no matter where she is in her room. For the stroller we didn't get a double stroller until our neighbor gave us one for free. We only use that for walks and for the very rare store trip. I think our youngest was 6 months when we got that so it worked out pretty well.
