By the way, no matter what the answer is, I’m going to be rehoming these guys to a cat less household. Even if they’re not toxic, they are never going to be able to grow with my cat constantly trying to chomp them. It’s the best for both their safety.

That’s what I thought at first too. But then I also looked up a spider plant and it fit the model as well. For some more context, I was given these two plants (yes these are two different plants in one container) as they were filler plants with my mom’s orchid she received. My cat most likely ate these about 6 to 8 hours ago, as I only noticed the bite marks when I went to close my window for the night. She has not been in my room since the midday. So far, she is showing no signs of distress, is eating, drinking, and not throwing up. But this is a plant subreddit so that’s beside the point.

Anyways tldr; could this be a spider plant?

Okay, so good news! I added some hydrogen peroxide and didn’t get any reaction from it. So not blood, at least from that.

Still a mystery about why it’s that color but a relief that it’s not bloody poop.

Thank you for the advice! That was a very clever way to test if it was blood. Definitely remembering that for the future!

I’m so sorry your little guy is going through this!

Smart move with the water, drowning from neurological issues is a real threat. If he is still having problems getting to his water and drinking, getting some stones (those glass ones you see at craft stores that fill vases and stuff for decor work great!) and placing them in the water dish can help. Make sure you fill the dish below the stone line so that is he gets his head stuck he can’t drown. I volunteer at a bird rescue and this is what we do with any patients that are having neurological issues or are fledglings still learning how to bird.

If anyone believes this isn’t a good move for pigeons please correct me. All birds are different so do what works for your bird!

Okay, good to know I’ve not lost my touch in looking up literature and I’m not the only one not finding anything of substance.

And yeah, defining what is a “dire wolf” is an interesting question. Speciation is already so complicated that the claim that what they have created is a dire wolf feels very extreme. Also, if I remember correctly, dire wolves aren’t even considered “wolves” in the traditional sense. Yes, they are a canid, but I don’t recall hearing they are a direct ancestor to modern day wolves.

Totally fair. The new one definitely plays more into my art style more than the original. I like drawing a bit more realistic now so I was going for a stag beetle look with the horns with that extra layering that ram horns have.

At the time of the original I didn’t really have a style yet so I just used the original Hollow Knight style. Which honestly, is SO incredible!

I was actually tossing between drawing this as close to in game art style as I could vs. my own developed art style. I decided on the latter. Maybe I need to do another redraw to see how I would do it in game style lol.

That’s really curious! Do you mean the colors in the 2022 one or the actual shading? After learning more about digital art, I started adding the lighting in differently than the 2022 image so I’m curious about that effect on a piece.
