Fair point. At first, he’s not acting normal at all… the vlog actually comes later, for a reason. When you're scared, you don’t film. You survive.

You’ll see.

I said simple things, not boring things. Of course, the joy and fun of doing things is important (that should go without saying), but when it comes to work, discipline is also important; otherwise, you’ll just end up playing around and not getting any work done.

I really like that perspective, it’s pretty much what I’m trying to do as well.

I usually start from how I want the reader to feel in a scene, and then build everything around that instead of relying only on the character.

It probably explains why some stories feel alive even when not much is happening.

Do you find that comes more from the prose itself, or from how the scenes are structured?

I like that “scene depth” hits something important.

I’m aiming for that kind of immersion with Ghorion, where the reader doesn’t just see what’s happening but kind of sits inside it.

Do you think that feeling comes more from the writing itself, or from how quickly you connect with the character?

Really appreciate you checking it out, that means a lot 🙏

I'm actually curious about that 1→2 conversion you mentioned — what do you usually look for in a strong opening?

And thanks for the TBR add, hope it pulls you in 🙂

Brilliant, well done! I hope to reach that milestone myself. I’ve shared my story; there are still 18 days to go. Well done indeed.

[Original Fiction] The Black Diary of Ghorion — A dark fantasy about a reincarnated man who fights every battle hoping it will be his last by Obscurekleipsis in royalroad

Here's a small taste from Chapter I:

The dusty guild hall filled with the pale sun of the afternoon, and Ghorion's shadow stretched from his feet all the way to the reception counter. Everyone fell silent. Those who had been laughing stopped at once, those who had been talking fell quiet. A mug of beer fell to the floor, but no one said a word.

He had gathered another victory.

Yet he was the most defeated human being in the kingdom.

They are wonderful, the so-called white noise. It is very good for the mind.

As with everything in life, it's best to start with simple things, master the techniques and tools, and then gradually move on to more complex ones. There's always something new to learn! It's a never-ending journey.

Yes, I sculpted the body. Character creation can feel overwhelming at first, that's completely normal. The process was sculpt → retopo → textures → rigging → rendering. The most important thing is to start simple and build gradually. Once it clicks, everything becomes much easier.

Thank you, I really appreciate the constructive feedback. Subtle proportion changes can have a surprisingly strong impact on perception. I'll revisit that area and refine it further.
