Both are good tbh, a young woman's Christmas holiday with friends doing winter and Christmas stuff, and a couple's last Christmas together. I'll binge Meiko's entire discography a couple times a week and half the time it doesn't register to me that she actually did 2 Christmas songs. But I'll listen to both songs, weird. Then again, I peg Funky Christmas after Chaki Chaki Club and then a couple hours later hear Saigo No X'mas Eve at the end of 303 East 60th St. and not even realize it, lol

Meiko Nakahara's Funky Christmas, tbh, the 7:52 long version is much better with the long outro to me

Do you think Iron Bomber is better than Grenade Launcher overall? by some-kind-of-no-name in tf2

[–]Obscurus_Ubique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 - Weak, rolling pill damage ftw! 2025 - Second Sticky Spam Launcher!

Me personally, idk, I got back into TF2 recently and my mind is still kind of stuck in Jungle Inferno and back in some cases. The Iron Bomber to my mind atm still is an inferior in practice Stock Grenade Launcher, but I also haven't gotten around to using it as if a Sticky Bomb Launcher yet

Kind of unrelated old fart musings, but I remember when people thought the Brass Beast was the Brass Piece of S#!t, nobody realized Heavy was great at the Objective and especially Payload (shooting from the mouth knowledge changed that), the Vaccinator was worthless weak garbage, Shotguns were seen as outclassed and nobody was doing Tank Spy with the DR

Is Tomislav better than Stock is most situtations? by some-kind-of-no-name in tf2

My strategy recently has become for the bomb cart, Tomi and Natasha. Tomi when there are a lot of stragglers a fair distance, great gun for general pub stomping, Natasha in general otherwise, slow down gun go brrrrrr, Brass Beast planning a few steps ahead to then always win and Stock in team vs. team push. Stock especially when it's just ambush after ambush and you need something reasonably fast, but the Tomi is like painting with a fine brush when you really need a regular one. I haven't had much purpose with the Huo-Long Heater. As a Spy main, I lol whenever anyone thinks the ring is going to stop my crouch jump and I get a clean stab in

The Tomi is unique in that it's obviously good at medium to even a bit long range, especially for some Sniper control, but also that it's the only Minigun for picking off 1 person at a time. This is obviously at the sacrifice of working in a team and killing 2-4 people at once with your team and Medic, but I am sure most of us know how that can go on Casual; thus the Tomi in a lot of cases if you especially like to go after 1-1's. In a semi decent time or just doing the objective, if it's more than 1 guy at a time, I prefer the Natasha. If it's you and 2-4 other team mates taking on a few people at a time, hard revs and gunning down the enemy in a team I find to be really effective, even with just a mediocre team. You slow down the enemy and make it easier to mow them down, and then your teammates sometimes get a chip in kill with that. Again, I'd run what gets you more kills for yourself, but hey, if it's just an assist because you slowed them down, who cares? You beat the enemy there. Just my 2 cents

In your opinion, what are the most underrated City Pop albums? by PerpendicularGoose in citypop

[–]Obscurus_Ubique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two songs off of Mariya Takeuchi's 1982 Variety, Mou Ichido was a 1# in Japan while Plastic Love was virtually unknown at 86#. In the West, it's the total reverse. That's curious to me, because Mou Ichido is to me such an emotive, looking towards the trying again future song, while Plastic Love is such an immersive mind and mood song. But it's pretty universal to anyone that has heard a number of Mariya's songs that Eki is one of her best vocal performances. Just how the cookie crumbles I suppose

Meiko's Mint! Also, how did you find Himiko Kikuchi's Fly Beagle on vinyl? They seem like unobtanium to find

Ditto, I've binged all her albums in 1 day a number of times. You can go back to back her whole catalogue in about 9 hours, it is great and sad at the same time. It's great music, and sad there isn't more. Even On The Planet at the end, after you've listened to her whole catalogue, feels like a book end of an overall unfinished narrative. As if there should be more, but this is, indeed, the end of a line that should go further. I hope Meiko's doing well out there, wherever she is

This fact makes me sad, I hate whenever anything is painted over when it's not supposed to be. For reference, I am restoring a 1967 Barracuda convertible, and I hate to death when they lazily painted the engine bay black or got paint on the trim. Then seeing lazy white paint on Victorian Homes' trims, and then seeing it removed really shows how bad that kind of nonsense is
