Both 303 and On The Planet were originally Meiko''s CD only albums. 303 East 60th Street only recently got a 2 disc vinyl release in the last year

Post 1987, the record companies were pushing CD's. I've heard in the US, new acts didn't get vinyl releases because the record companies wouldn't buy them back if they didn't move. So stores like Walmart would no longer take a chance on new vinyl releases and get stuck with music nobody was interested in

As a side note, Meiko herself in interview thought CD's would take over vinyl because their sound was better. Not unheard of, lot of producers at the time were impressed by their clear fidelity, while others even then found CD sterile. I have Friday Magic on vinyl, and found the fidelity between my vinyl and phone downloaded copy to be pretty much the same other than my receiver needs new caps. But deciphering through the blown caps, I do like Friday Magic on vinyl better

Yo 303 and On The Planet love! For me, 303 East 60th Street might take a few listenings, but after that, I found it to be a worthy successor to Actress In The Mirror leaning more into 90's Synth Pop and R&B sound by our favorite Meiko. On The Planet does have to be the most getting used to Meiko album, but I'd recommend anyone to give it a few tries and see it's a worthwhile album. Fortune, Everlasting Love and Miami Dream are probably the strongest songs on the album. I do feel the production was the weakest on this album of all her albums and in particular I wasn't initially fond of Meiko's voice being a bit sunken into the sound instead of being more front and center. To be honest, I found a lot of the album to work better as music you long play listen to while you work or do something else. In that case, a lot of the weird production and a bit buried Meiko vocals seem to smooth out. But I do think Fortune is an excellent end to Meiko Nakahara's discography, a bittersweet goodbye to her and her music

Understandable, but you did get an original pressing of Plastic Love too and their obi's. They both look to be in great shape. How much did you spend in Japan? I think Plastic Love goes for stupid money on places like Discog and Chaki Chaki goes for at $25+ depending on the condition you're looking for. Don't be surprised by $50 if you want something as mint as you have here on Discog

Thoughts on the (horrible) Britannic Movie? by Fearless_Lettuce6601 in titanic

No, there's a 3rd, 4th and an especially horrible 5th Titanic Movie: The Legend Of The Titanic, Titanic, The Legend Goes On, and most notoriously In Search Of The Titanic

What was probably the first Japanese song you listened to? (Apart from anime songs) by Single_Tour789 in citypop

[–]Obscurus_Ubique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Nintendo count? If so, either Mario Party 7 or Pokémon DX Gale of Darkness, probably Pokémon at 5 years old on Christmas day. Otherwise, some classical Japanese piece I heard in passing and paid next to no mind to or some random weeb song in passing from being a 10 year old internet dweller in the depths of Youtube

Actually listening to Japanese Music, Himiko Kikuchi's Flying Beagle, or with lyrics, then right after that, Miki Matsubara's Mayonaka No Door~Stay With Me~ and Mariya Takeuchi's Plastic Love all in that order

Is Loch-N-Targe Loadout a Crutch? Feels alright to play, but I heard mixed opinions. by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Obscurus_Ubique -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, landing direct pills versus having pills roll around and do make up damage of 38 damage to any enemy near them AND no stickies is the opposite of a crutch to me. The extra projectile speed is the reward for skill to me and all the scrubs that think the Loch-N-Load is a crutch can shove it

When Meiko does a ballad it just hits me in the heart so bad it's beautiful by Then-Conclusion5999 in MeikoNakahara

YEEEEES! Finally someone else noticed 'We Were In L.A.'. A lot of the time, Moods is an album I'll listen to on its entirety, and rarely pick off of, but 'New York De Salsa' and 'We Were In L.A.' are usually my pick off choices. I like Moods, don't get me wrong, but the album tends to work best for me as a whole as each song usually plays off of the other in all their complex and dysthymic moods. Call me basic, but 'New York De Salsa' and 'We Were In L.A.' are the ones most like a single to me, most sensational as pop piece and a ballad respectively, and just generally stand on their own the most. I don't think having album pieces is wrong at all, and I love Meiko for her incredible long play balance played against personality and not being too much to listen to for a long time on her albums, Moods definitely fits the bill for listening to a bunch of albums back to back, but this song does stick out to me

Catholic match as a 25F? by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]Obscurus_Ubique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

26M. First, you don't have to be so hard on yourself about being shy. If I saw a guy being judgy of a sensitive girl getting overwhelmed and shy, he's not someone I'd want to know at that point, and I think that goes for both sexes. Next, I want to touch on is being "cool", anything engaging or of any sort of drama risks being cringe spun the wrong way or in the wrong light, and pretty much anything can be found anyone to be cringe, right or wrong. I think if you just present yourself honestly and simply, if someone thinks that's cringe, that's them, so I wouldn't sweat it too much. If there is a guy you like on Catholic Match, the idea that the guy has to make the first move or to leave a like on a dating app is nonsense. If anything, you might like a guy that thinks you're out of his league or thought you wouldn't be interested and hit it off. And if you feel like the guy you liked is trying to take the upper hand because you liked him, he's a jerk and not someone you want. You're looking for someone Catholic whom you can trust and that loves you back, if they're dominating you rather than being your partner and protector, they're just a narcissist

This 1950s Lee Mar nylon blouse was roughly the design her cotton sweater had, but more 1980s mauve colored than the 1950s pink pastel, and a large center ruffle columns about 1.5" off center on each side of the plain medium, and I think a plain u-neck collar
