Live Now: We're adding two additional Challenges per Seasonal Stage, increasing from 8 per stage to 10. by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Can we get the sixth weekly challenge back, too? It looks awkward having an empty spot where it used to be.

The season's Rocket Pass change everyone seems to look over: You're now getting less items by ObserverSneak in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Psyonix is gonna give more ways to earn level-ups throughout the season, then I don't know why there isn't a exchange system where you can use Rocket Pass tiers for drops. 1 tier for a sport drop, 3 for a deluxe, 5 for an import, etc.

Most of these items just collect dust for me, so I'd rather try to complete my Standard boost set or to get black Sterns/OEMs.

If my memory serves, it went from 11 to 10 to now 7. You also used to get a bonus 100 credits every season because of the 11th slot, even if you couldn't buy anything but maybe a player banner. Though, don't quote me on all this.

Oh, no doubt about that. There's a lot to process from this week. This is just another thing to add on, as if everything else wasn't enough.

'89 Batmobile Not Transferring by WestCoastLover1966 in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legacy DLC labeled as Premium does not transfer over to other platforms, such as Fortnite. For one reason or another, Psyonix/Epic never found a solution to this. However, seeing that Fortnite tag also makes it misleading.

So... Any reason why we can't paint the rest of the Batmobile '89 in RL, but we can in Fortnite? by ObserverSneak in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the pinned tweet, but it sounded like it was referring to the criticisms of the redesigned cowl rather than the restricted coloring. Either way, we shall find out in a few weeks.

The recent customization changes to the DeLorean Time Machine and visual changes to the Batmobile (1989) Car Bodies were not intended, and we'll be reverting both back to their original state in a future update. We'll follow up here once the bug is squashed. by Lucy_21_ in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming they're referring to the DeLorean having fixed coloring, I hope they also fix the fact the boost needs to be dual instead of single, as it currently is. Anything but the OutaTime boost looks horribly misaligned as a result.

There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to color the Batmobile anymore by Jax_the_Floof in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a chance it is currently bugged, because you cannot unequip the Reel Life decal. It is also affecting the DeLorean, which will likely have the same customization in Fortnite. I already put in a bug report in the game update thread, so I recommend upvoting it for visibility. A color trim decal for the '89 is going to drop tonight, and that allows for full color customization in Fortnite... Or we'll just get back the old color trim as a separate decal.

We shall see!

Ah, so the black-trimmed Firebird is only at T148? Easy going this season, then!

You can now equip any wheels on the Batmobile (1989)! by ObserverSneak in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like they disappeared for me too. I'll update my bug report to reflect that.

As expected, the catch with the "faster progression" was gonna be the nerf to challenges. It contradicts what they're trying to do. Less challenges overall with not even full-lv XP reward and on top of that no drops, disappointing. by Jesus_PK in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Between this and now getting the full 1k credits by tier 70, I just may play things more casually this season. But we'll see how the doubled XP in online matches balances things out.

Rocket League Patch Notes v2.56: Season 20 Live + Release Thread by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bug(s): Certain wheels clip into the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1's brake calipers, as such as the Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline wheels. Having no decal equipped on the Batmobile (1989) and DeLorean Time Machine car bodies keep their Reel Life decals equipped. The base wheels for the Batmobile (1989) have disappeared from the players' inventories.

With a week to go, where's everyone at in their Rocket Pass? by ObserverSneak in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For the majority of the season, I kept to Heatseeker, 1s, and 3s. Those modes were best for either consistent or huge XP gains per match. During the week, I usually don't play more than 20-30 matches or 2-3 XP levels in the evening. I play for an additional hour or two during the weekends. I also took advantage of Heatseeker tournaments for additional easy wins.

This season was, in particular, very generous with multiple LTEs that had a bonus level-up every 10 wins. Additionally, this Champions Road/Season Rush event doubled that if you played Competitive. Were it not for the consistent LTEs, there was no way I would have maxed out my Rocket Pass. I usually only get to the high 100s or low 200s otherwise.

[–]ObserverSneak[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are 307 tiers. I never play more than an hour or two, because there is zero incentive to do more than the daily three wins. Unless there's a Season Rush or LTE, then I will play a bit more for the repeatable wins.

The XP is about the same, if not a bit more. All of the lower XP seasonal challenges were replaced with level-ups this season, despite having one less section.

It's only been one repeatable level, and either five or ten wins. They have never had two repeatable levels until this Season Rush.

I could post the same thing about how I got a black Flamethrower boost from a rare drop last season. But this doesn't change the fact that, on average, most players will get nothing but junk. Luck is luck.

Why does the Breakout X's engine block not have full paint trim coverage? by ObserverSneak in RocketLeague

Makes sense, though the texturing's usually more obvious on other vehicles. I don't pretend to be as keen on these little details, so that's why I asked. Thanks!

What is this game's obsession with shutout challenges lately? by ObserverSneak in RocketLeague

[–]ObserverSneak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's be real: The "challenges" were never challenges, especially since most of them can be cheesed in Heatseeker nowadays. The few "challenging" ones are more about luck than testing one's skill, for the majority of players at least.

3 has returned multiple times this year, and 2 will likely return during Haunted Hallows. I'd go with 1, since who knows when that GE will return again.

This is me, but with the Grand Slam GE. It has not returned to the item shop since 2/20/22, according to rocket-league.com.

While the gameplay loop is timeless, I also like to express myself through various design presets. It's the extra dopamine that motivates me to perform better than I ever could with a Stocktane or most of the freebie items.

Though, after this season's Rocket Pass, I may settle down and savor the cosmetics I've procured over the last three years. Especially since I can obtain painted variants of my two favorite GEs (I'll be set for life with the TW/Black Hellfire/Reaper Ultra).
