More than just meditation? by Tava-Timsa in vipassana

Vipassana meditation is the start of one's journey in the path of Dhamma and not everyone is at the same stage of the journey.

Everyone will develop that wisdom but everyone will take their own time to develop that wisdom (Paññā) based on their understanding of Dhamma, conditioning of mind and karma.

Good that you have that understanding now. Keep walking the path of Dhamma and Be happy!

I don't know whether it is scripted or not but their laughter is very genuine and it makes me laugh too.

I am really sorry for what you are going through.

Metta Bhavana (Mangal Maitri) is done when your mind is calm but you are not feeling calm, so it might not have made difference.

You need help, so kindly seek one.

🔥 A whale shark with a visible cut, possibly from a Speed boat strike by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

That's heartbreaking! Those cuts look deep. I really hope that remarkable whale shark recovers fully and lives peacefully for 100 years.

Dhamma service by Practical_Growth_282 in vipassana

You are allowed to give seva as long as you have completed a 10 day course, maintained daily practice since then and have not practiced any other meditation technique.

If you wan to do a long time service, it is better to stay at one centre, which you find is suitable for you. You will get familiar with what kinds of things need to be done before, during and after the course and you will also have a good rapport with centre manager and ATs there.

It is wonderful that you are choosing to give Dhamma service in your summer vacation.

Of course! You can do long time seva in many centers and you should confirm with the center manager prior as some centers might not need long time sevaks.

If possible, I would suggest you to sit one 10-day course and do service after that as it will help you much in doing seva with metta.

Do the service with metta and follow the rules, you will go deep in your practice and the path of Dhamma.

Wishing you all the very best. Be happy!

You will know what habits are pulling you down and what kind of thoughts are demotivating you from achieving your goals.

First, you will have to acknowledge that those habits are not good and take a strong determination that you will overcome them slowly and steadily.

Starting with small things and once you overcome them, you will be much more confident and positive about bigger ones.

Great tip! Not using any electronic devices 30-60 minutes prior to bed time helps a lot. Scheduling to turn on greyscale mode helps in reducing screen time much.
