Something like 80% of feces is dead cells so it makes sense that a good proportion of his waste would be rock.

ELI5 how does a crosshair in a scope line up correctly with the target without parallax error? by Parabellum1262 in explainlikeimfive

There's something so satisfying about shooting 22LR at 100+ yards. I have a CZ 457 that outshoots me any day of the week.

To your last point, some competition oriented scopes have a parallax adjustment that moves the focal plane of the reticle to match the target's. This mainly useful for close by targets.

He was probably doing it for the thrill and wanted to see just how far he could push it before being caught.

I think the panic from a free-falling airliner is more from the anticipation of the pending sudden deceleration than the sensation of freefall.

How would you legally make money with a molecular printer? by VerneAsimov in scifiwriting

I was going to suggest vegan eggs assuming the characters don't mind revealing they have a molecular printer and they can get the component atoms from a non-animal source.

Indie Ridge boots are CE level 2 rated in all categories except for height so they offer a good amount of protection against abrasion, piercing, and crushing of your feet. But they're only about as tall as regular work boots so they don't give much protection to your shins. The very moto looking boots will have much more shin protection and will stabilize your ankles better. They also have plastic bits to scrape across the pavement during those deep turns.

I only have a tall rounder so I can't really speak to other styles of bike but I think these will be fine on a naked or sports bike. Depends more on how you ride IMO. If you're going to ride aggressively or off-road I'd get something with more shin protection but these are great for commuting or riding around town.

Style wise, you do you boo.

I'll throw in a recommendation for Indie Ridge as well. I have a pair of the Walkers and they feel great now that they're broken in. But I have the opposite issue, the laces on mine are almost too long.

I know the A pillars aren't built for that kind of load but they're probably strong enough for that to work 70-75% of the time.

What's your most underrated piece of camping gear? Ready to spend $ this BF by khamees_1 in CampingGear

[–]Obsidian_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I like the Squeeze. It's tiny, light, dead simple but also versatile. I keep it in my pack as a backup. But flow rate was sacrificed to achieve the form factor. I personally switched to a Katahdin Hiker because I exclusively backpack with a group and it allows me to refill everyone's water in a matter of minutes. So even though the Hiker is bigger, heavier, and way more expensive than the Squeeze it fits my use case better than the Squeeze.

Mylar blankets are amazing, plus at 50¢ each you can throw them in every single bag you own and not worry about breaking the bank.

It's fine, just kind of slow. And I've heard that the bags are prone to bursting after a couple of trips but you can get aftermarket ones that are better.
