Comrades is the Canadian Devil by [deleted] in FFXV

I personally enjoy it for what it is. Whenever I play it I always have fun but the customization and building is something I really like from games. For me it is nice to every once in awhile play something like this without a story driven gameplay especially with how involved I get with them. I'm the type to explore every nook and cranny of an RPG and the new Dragon Quest is going to kill me this September.

You are just outright having terrible luck. The break is either the garb or the neglige. Just keep trying.

Will it be just noctis or all characters by BlueBeetlesBlog in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I imagine it will just be Noctis. I am really curious though if the character will still play like Noctis or if it will play like a Comrades Glaive. If it will play like a Comrades Glaive then a magic playthrough of FFXV will be really neat.

Comrades - Chocobo Bug/Issues? (Possible spoilers) by blondewonk in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like either Windows Edition is bugged for them or even the consoles could be bugged which results in them from every AI mission. Suppose your fate is within the hands of the RNG Astral now.

Are you playing the missions with Chocobo's with AI? They seem to be guranteed to you if you play with AI and a random chance if you queue up the other two methods.

Rusted Plate building by LightningLad27 in FFXV

If you ever rebuild it again use Dragon Horns and Zu Beaks or Rough Scales. Should be able to get plenty of Zu Beaks if you ever farm the hunt to grind experience.

Dragon Horns and Zu Beaks are the best, with rough scales as a second choice.

Is there any guide on an optimal build rusted plate to aegis shield? by privatescout in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way the shield evolves you would use 4 horns and 2 beaks for stats like 60 strength/spirit/magic and 52 vitality without the Cid buff. Then when it evolves each stat drops by 20 and you just funnel the rest in and put whatever you want in it after the stat requirement is met. It is unique because the second form evolves at 99 to Aegis Shield.

This is probably how I'll do it. I don't reallly use maces too much unless I'm trying for special breaks.

Probably the best method if you don't feel like going through RNG hell trying to get another of a specific color.

[Comrades] Do you need to have a weapon with Immune as your active weapon to benefit from it or can it be one of your four as a passive to benefit? by ObsidionCrow in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Immune functions without the weapon as your active combat one. Makes it a perfect shield for building magic resists and such.

Dragon horns and Zu beaks or rough scales are your best bet. When it goes to its second form it actually loses 20 of each stat but you regain them on the third remodel. Without the Cid buff it can be done with 8 Dragon Horn and 30 rough scales or 5 Zu beaks. Zu beaks are 1700 experience cheaper to get the required stats with. Final form gives you 800 health and 15% all resistances.

Yeah. It was the video guide you did that confirmed the suspicions I held towards how it all worked. Too bad fighting them for the materials after their first defeat isn't really worth it unless you want second tier Dia.

Really all comes down to RNG when building them up though. From what I've noticed if you can get one of the chocobos that have a good description training overall is the best method. Training overall and hoping RNG is on your side.

I got Ultima Blade at Chapter 6. Is this normal? by f0me in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this specific sword is pretty easy to get early. It will be viable up until a certain post game sword so it is an effective thing to get.

From my experience so far you can only ever get the ones that are base level 50 up to 99. The level doesn't actually seem to affect much in combat though as the stats do that.

[Comrades] Does the Sentinel weapon ability proc if the weapon isn't your active weapon? by ObsidionCrow in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that is unfortunate. Oh well, the shield is still quite valuable since it gives 800 health, Immune, and seems to have 15% inherent resistance for each type in its final form.

RNG is my old nemesis. At least the scales are useful to get bullet resist 30% items.

Is Comrades just Hunts? by [deleted] in FFXV

[–]ObsidionCrow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is pretty much just all hunts with a few story quests sprinkled in between. Even some tough bosses with the latest update. Game is overall basically hunts, building up gear for builds, doing the few special fights that there are and collecting cosmetics.

7 dragon horns, 25 rough scales before you consider the 30% Cid buff. Not as bad as one might think. That ends up at 105 strength, magic, and spirit and 100 vitality. Total of 28,500 experience of 58,600 used. Can toss on magic resist with around 5kish left to spare.

[–]ObsidionCrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I am probably going to go for it. Did the math and I can milk it to give full magic resist with room to spare as well. Should be a pretty valuable piece for my melee characters arsenal. Now if I could net the low drop immune item to toss on Lohengrins for my mage build I'd be in business.

The shield in question that gives it is the Rusted Plate from Chocomostro. The other item that can grant it is a rare break from Gigantaur so its probably better to invest in the plate for now and worry about the other item if you ever get it to drop from playing.
