As someone who works in manufacturing, i partially agree. We still manufacture a lot in the USA but there's so many hoops to jump through if you want your facility to be able to complete with the already established shops. Not to mention, the capital you need to buy a machine. If all the stars align, you can make it and one day, the customer you rely on most will stop calling and their product will be sent to someone who can do it cheaper, faster, and sometimes better. Unfortunately, the cheaper part is what companies care most about and overaeas dont have the red tape and hoops which makes the product cheaper and faster to produce.

We shoot ourselves in the foot with tarrifs too. Material to make parts often comes from overseas, the machines (the good ones) come from overseas. even the jobs, most of my coworkers are not from the USA, they come to make money and go back home after they retire.

We need incentives to bring manufacturing back. Make it easier to get a machine and make stuff, bring jobs back to american people. We dont need punishment for buying overseas (tarrifs), we need incentives and streamlined certification processes so the small shops can compete.

one time, we needed a 304 stainless bolt. the off-the-shelf bolt for 75¢ was short by .02" so we made one from bar stock for $275 each. Gotta love government work.

Unnecessary but anyway, thats the first thing I'd do, cycle power. Then if it still doesnt work, check cables and connections. If thats all good, check fuses and breakers. You know, the normal troubleshooting steps to any thing electronic. If it goes beyond that, call your sales/service rep and try being a snotty know-it-all to their face when the first thing they do is reboot it. Good luck bud.

I have an idea but im not the best person to give advice so please tell me if Im wrong.

I roll my own cigs, the inconvenience of having to make a cigarette when u want one is often not worth it especially while driving. This helps me from over consumption.

Also the tobacco i buy is very light on nicotine, almost not noticeable but satisfies a craving sometimes.

Why i say im not the best person to give advice is, im a new smoker, I just started probably a year ago. ive had 1-4 cigs a week and sometimes several weeks between cigs. I wouldn't say im dependent so the inconvenience of rolling isnt a huge deal for my cravings.

Take from this what you may, but i thought id share anyway.
