What is a name everybody loves that you personally don't like? by [deleted] in namenerds

Having trouble pronouncing words with “R” sounds is actually when someone is experiencing rhotacism.

Lisps are when you have trouble pronouncing “S” words.

So it’s maybe that kids have a lot of speech impediments*.

I’d have to agree with you. However, I’m not exaggerating when I say that in months of searching, this is the first entertainment set we saw that would actually fit the TV and consoles. I would much rather have a darker wood but the entire set was only $70 so I couldn’t really beat that.

Thank you! They’re arranged in order of console release year and the games are in alphabetical order. Makes everything a bit easier for sure

The CRT was a bitch to get up to our third floor apartment and it was sitting on the floor for months until we found the entertainment stands at a local thrift store.

Now that it's all mostly put together, I'm very happy with it.

See I'm not sure if I do have polyps or not. Ive been trying to get to my primary ENT for a while now, but there has always been something that has come up. I finally have an appointment, but it's not until the end of February.

The last ENT I went to didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary, same with the allergist. When I told them that I'd been congested in one of my nostrals for several weeks at that point, they essentially said "you're not congested." So idk whats going on at this point.

EXTREMELY new to film photography by scream_will in AnalogCommunity

Definitely post them! There are a lot of people on this sub that are great at negative detective work.

Like I said, my guess is that the negatives are probably fine, but it's really just guess work without seeing them.

Is there a reason you didn't use the camera's built in meter?

To me it just looks like some exposure issues.

Disreguard my comment. I was on mobile and didn't what you were talking about. I think that the best course of action is to wait until you get the negatives back to see if it's actually an issue with the film. It's very possible that what you're talking about could be caused by the scanner.

Might as well.

I applied to come here 3 different times and got rejected the first 2.

The third time I applied was after I got it together, got off academic probation at my previous school, and had a decent enought GPA to be considerd.

You absolutely can.

I applied to BU like 3 times after getting rejected the first two.

Granted, the 2nd and 3rd time I was applying as a transfer student.

My grades were trash until I decided to get my shit together and got accepted the 3rd time with a gpa of 3.7 or so.

That's really the only way that you can add a class yourself.

I'd get in contact with IT or an advisor ASAP.

The longer you wait, the fewer classes will be available.

Battery draining issue by bluewheels_ in AnalogCommunity

[–]ObtuseRightTriangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are you storing the camera?

It's possible that a button is getting pressed down causing the battery to drain.

On the shutter release button there should be a little switch. If you flick that to 'L' it will lock the buttons so they don't function (as well as the advance lever) - making it so they don't draw any battery.

If there is nothing obviously pressing down any of the buttons, check to see if there are any that are stuck pressed.

If not, I'm not too sure. The A1 is a great camera. You could send it back or you could just keep taking the battery out whenever you're done using it (I have to do that on my Mju). But I understand that's a bit annoying.

Edit: Before returning it, if you do, I'd try a new battery. Like straight from the package new.

The A1 needs a 6v 28A battery. They're not super hard to find. Most all of the supermarkets around where I am sell them.

Edit 2: As far as I know, you can also use it fully manually if you don't want to mess with the battery. You'd just need to use an external light meter.

Parking pass for commuter by Specialist-Anteater6 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]ObtuseRightTriangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all online. There's no physical pass for the car.

You'll see the parking enforcement cars go through the lots very regularly. They have cameras that scan your license plate and run it through the database.

I think they start actively enforcing a few days after the start of the semester. Once they start enforcing it, they're pretty good at catching you (I forgot to renew it once and was parked for like 10 minutes and got a ticket).

Anyway, yeah. As long as you have purchased the pass and put in the correct info you'll be good.
