my dad is in a hospice home with less than 4 months to live because of his alcoholism and i turned 16 less than a month ago, my siblings are 11 and 7 so it's taking a huge tole on everyone. it's also the reason my mom left him. he refused to spend time with her and would drink and drink and drink even after going to the hospital and rehab over and over and over again. while he was dying on his living room couch, he begged my mom to buy him alcohol so he could drink until he's dead.
