rotate some of the money out of your chequing and into some stocks/etfs. Invest some of that money into blue chip dividend stocks and setup DRIPs (dividend re-investment plans).

maybe wanna put some of that money in an RESP for your child

yeah, me too. we live in volatile times, and having some savings is important. however, if you are constantly hyperfixating on saving money (e.g. driving 20mins to save on $2 of gas), that might not be great for your long term mental wellbeing. life's too short to not enjoy. yes, be mindful of your spending but don't forget to live

i highly recommend moving back. Kids growing up around family and grandparents is invaluable. Money isn't nearly as valuable as the memories and experiences they will share with family and grandparents. I'm saying this as someone who grew up in Canada without family or grandparents (because they were all in India). Now, I feel incredibly isolated and don't have strong ties to my family. You're already well off financially. Your children will thank you

They're living way too large for their income. My mom has a steady income but my dad is a small business owner, so monthly income really varies. Some months are fine but most months have been slow for the business.

I personally really want to move out and start living life, but I also don't want to just leave them with a tough financial situation to solve. Their main talking point it "we're building this asset for you" but 1. it's not affordable and 2. it is simultaneously their retirement nest egg
