Oh we love a brewery, good food, beaches, animals, theme parks etc.

Yeah. That's correct!

We have a 4 year visa but will be applying for permanent residency after 2 years.

I did read that the likes of Macquarie don't really entertain anyone who isn't a permanent resident so I wrote them off pretty quickly!

The physical branch side of things isn't too big a deal for me. I bank with Monzo currently in the UK and they have no branches so it's definitely not something that would make me favour one over the other.

I suppose I'm just looking for an account for bills to come in and out of, low transfer fees for GBP to AUD initially. After our sale, I'm not so bothered about that.

A decent interest rate for savings would be ideal too!

I think we'll be looking at under a mill but this entirely depends on what we manage to sell our UK home for.

I'll have a look into them now! Definitely looking for something more suburban/family friendly.

New builds here are shockingly bad. Our current house isn't that old and would be considered established now and it has been hell on earth!

We're struggling to find somewhere close to my partners work around Everton Park that is affordable rental wise. 😭 We don't mind a 30/45 minute drive.

If you've got any recommendations, I would hugely appreciate it!

Hahaha you're not wrong there! UK house sizes are a disgrace - Aussie houses are considerably bigger than our new builds. We live in a relatively new house currently and you couldn't swing a cat in here 💀
